—Wayhem to Adrien, "Party Crasher" |
Wayhem[2] is a minor character of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a teenager who is a fan of Adrien Agreste.
In "Party Crasher", when Wayhem felt left out for not being allowed to get in the party being held in Adrien's room, he was akumatized by Hawk Moth into Party Crasher, a disco-themed supervillain.
Appearance
Physical appearance
Wayhem stands at a medium height. He has very light tangelo skin, brown eyes, and wavy hair. His hair is sometimes blond, other times light or dark brown, depending on the episode.
Civilian attire
He dresses very similar to Adrien. He wears a white button-down jacket with an upturned collar and sleeves rolled up above his elbow, which he keeps unbuttoned. On the upper left side of the shirt, there is a green chameleon design. Underneath, he wears a black round V-neck collared t-shirt (which in "Glaciator" has five horizontal stripes around the chest which are colored, from top to bottom, yellow, dark grayish chartreuse green, bright green, deep green, and very pale blue), blue jeans, a brown belt, and red sneakers with white laces and soles.
As Party Crasher
Party Crasher wore a stereotypical 70's disco dancer's outfit, with an unbuttoned disco ball patterned pointed shouldered jacket, matching pants, and high heel shoes that were connected to his pants. He also had a black V-neck dress t-shirt with a popped collar and a necklace with a smaller silver disco ball bead around his neck. He wore a pair of sunglasses of the same style as the jacket and pants. At the end of each hand, he wielded a disco ball-shaped gauntlet which he used to activate his powers. He had luminous vivid arctic blue skin and orchid afro styled hair with the same shade of skin, alongside a matching thick mustache and pointed eyebrows.
Personality
Wayhem is overly enthusiastic, courageous, passionate, and sometimes obnoxious. He often reacts melodramatically to situations, from panicking for Adrien's safety when he falls from a building to gushing in delight when Adrien gives him his email address.
Wayhem dedicates himself to anything that he wants, like Adrien's autograph, although sometimes going too far in his obsessions with his energy and forwardness. However, when he realizes his mistakes, he feels quite guilty about it. Bold, Wayhem takes on any challenge to protect what he cares about, as seen when he tries to defend Adrien from Gorizilla.
In "Mr. Pigeon 72" and "Illusion", it is revealed that he still has the tendency to run to wherever Adrien is, as in the case of the former he went to the public pool and in the latter episode he went to the school cafeteria which were both places where Adrien was at during those times.
As Party Crasher, he was vengeful towards Adrien about not inviting him to his party. He was quite cruel, trapping anybody who was invited to the party. He was also understandably confident in his ability to predict one's movement, deeming their "body language second nature" to him, but leaning on overconfidence. When King Monkey threw an object at him, he wasn't aware that it would distort his powers.
Abilities
As a civilian
Wayhem shows quick thinking by spraying Gorizilla with perfume to undermine his enhanced sense of smell.
As Party Crasher
Party Crasher had a large selection of disco-themed powers. Primarily, he could trap people and objects inside the tiny mirrors of his disco ball gauntlets whenever he touched them, causing them to disappear and appear frozen on the mirror. It is not known whether this ability was voluntary or not, as everything touched by the gauntlets disappears, even if Party Crasher did not mean to touch it. The people or objects trapped inside the gauntlets appeared to be frozen in time to an extent, as they were not seen moving or emoting in any way until they are released, which could be accomplished by breaking the gauntlets. Party Crasher displayed the ability to shoot a sparkling beam of refracted light from his gauntlets, which had the same effect as touching something with the gauntlets. There were no stated limitations on the mirror beams but given that Party Crasher only used them occasionally, it can be inferred that there was some period of cool down before he could use it again.
Furthermore, Party Crasher could predict the future movements of his opponents', visualizing the area as a disco-tiled floor with his opponents movements projected as static silhouettes on each tile. This ability could be used against multiple people at once, although the user was liable to be overwhelmed by the amount of movement.
Relationships
Adrien Agreste
Wayhem is a huge fan of Adrien, dressing like him and admiring him. When he meets Adrien in "Gorizilla", he is very ecstatic and chases Adrien around town with other fans. However, his admiration of Adrien leads him to confront Gorizilla with a bottle of perfume, and he willingly pretends to be Adrien to confuse Gorizilla and — unknowingly — help Adrien run off to transform into Cat Noir. Although giddy around Adrien, he apologizes for posting an image of Adrien that caught people's attention. Excitedly, Wayhem accepts Adrien's friendship while promising not to endanger his obscurity in public again.
In "Party Crasher", it is shown that the two chat online often, with Adrien confiding that his father never lets him go out or have friends over. He later learns of Adrien’s party and believes that he'd lied to him, causing his akumatization. However, once deakumatized, Wayhem accepts Adrien's apology and explanation that he hadn't known his friends would surprise him, even expresses excitement over getting to clean his room with him.
Alya Césaire
Not much is known about Alya and Wayhem's relationship, but they seem to be good friends, as they were paired up for the friendship game in "Ikari Gozen". Wayhem and Alya won the game together as they were good partners and worked together with ease.
