Hey everyone! School is kicking me in the butt right now, so this could be the last part for a few days. In case anyone is considering taking AP Art History, don't. It's not worth the suffering. Please comment if you're here, I'd like to gage the number of people who read this story! I also love any constructive criticism or praise you can give.

Part 3

No sooner had Lin shut her front door behind her than all heck began to break loose. It started with a loud crashing sound just out of her view on the street around the corner from her house. She moved as fast as she could to get a better look and caught a glimpse of the situation just as a hooded figure jumped into view.

As soon as the red, orange, and brown caught her eye, she knew. This was the person who had activated the Scorpion Miraculous. Near him were a group of kids, and on the opposite side of the street was a trio of girls.

The scorpion holder lifted a hand and the group of kids started to drop to the ground. She nearly swore under her breath but stopped herself. This was bad. She needed to find a holder for the Unicorn Miraculous as quickly as possible.

Her attention was suddenly caught by the girls. Seeming to break out of her stupor, one of them, a blonde, bent to grab an object off the ground and hurl it at the children’s tormentor, shouting something in the process. The other girls with her also began to throw what Lin now realized were stones at the scorpion holder, which turned out to be an effective distraction.

Finally seeing the danger they were in, all three began to run away, towards Lin, from the scorpion holder who was now pursuing them.

They got closer and closer, the blonde who had been the first to act now keeping her friends safely in front of her. As each of the other girls rounded the corner, she grabbed them and told them to get inside. They gladly and quickly obliged.

Before the blonde could round the corner as well, Lin saw her nearly lose her balance. She hadn’t been in time to escape the effects of the scorpion holder’s powers.

Much to Lin’s shock, she recovered and continued to run, swerving mildly back and forth but not falling. The girl reached and turned the corner, and Lin grabbed her as well, leading her toward the door.

Once inside, the girl was out of the range of the scorpion holder’s powers and put a hand to her head, obviously trying to calm down. All three girls looked at Lin, terrified out of their wits. Honestly, she didn’t blame them.

One of the girls, who had dark brown hair, opened her mouth to say something, but Lin put a finger to her mouth, hushing her. The sound of footsteps outside stopped, and Lin carefully walked to the window, trying to stay silent. She peered out.

The scorpion holder, who she could now tell was a boy, was scanning his surroundings with a smile on his face and an almost playful concentration in his eyes. When he didn’t see anything, he shrugged and smiled even wider, leaping onto the roof of the house across the street and continuing on his way. Lin watched him fade into the distance.

She heaved a sigh of relief and faced the girls. “The coast is clear. You can go now, if you’d like.”

They all nodded and whispered a trembling thanks under their breath, getting up to walk out the door. As the blonde moved to leave, Lin grabbed her wrist.

“What’s your name?” she asked, discreetly shoving the small white rose box into the girl’s purse.

“Sierra,” the girl replied hesitantly. “Sierra Mitchell.”

“Well, Sierra,” Lin smiled warmly, “call me if you ever need help.” She pressed a folded piece of paper into the girl’s hand. “Good luck.”

Sierra cast her a last weird look before walking out the door to follow her friends toward her home. As she walked, she unfolded the paper and found a phone number with the name “Lady Lin” above it. Shrugging, she unzipped her purse to tuck it inside. She stopped as her fingers brushed across an unfamiliar object that she didn’t remember placing there herself.
