“ | The Sandboy just checked in, now nightmares can begin! | ” |
—Sandboy, "Sandboy" |
This Unnamed boy is a minor character in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a young child who lives in Paris.
In "Sandboy", after having a nightmare due to watching a scary movie alone by himself, he was akumatized by Hawk Moth into Sandboy, a nightmare-themed supervillain.[3]
Appearance
Physical appearance
The boy has messy black hair with deep sapphire blue reflections and dark indigoish gray eyes. He has fairly light skin, and his height is average for a child. He has black eye shade around his eyes.
Civilian attire
He wears teal-and-white one-piece pyjamas with Knightowl's logo in the center of it. He also wears socks with orange and white stripes.
As Sandboy
Sandboy was a Sandman-like guy and still had black eye shade around his eyes. But, he had pale, light grayish sapphire blue skin with white spots that resembled stars, brilliant gold eyebrows, and eyeliner. He had purple hair with curled tips and an upward position with a glowing dotted line on each part, making the hair look like octopus tentacles. His eyes were brilliant blue-violet with oval pupils and very pale violet sclerae. Over each eye, there was a yellow line. He wore a dark purple bodysuit with a large collar, the inner lining of which being yellow, and a nearly white glowing symbol on the chest. The villain also had lower arms which were thick with glowing dotted lines going down them. He also appeared to be riding a dark purple item with very pale yellow pointed tips that had resemblance to a pillow.
Personality
The boy is a happy boy. He is very energetic. He can be easily scared when something scares him, like in "Sandboy" when he watched a scary movie on TV and had a nightmare (which caused him to get akumatized). He was also very excitable when Ladybug offered to take him home.
As Sandboy, he was more confident and demanding, but at the same time as he was focused on Ladybug, he left himself wide open.
Abilities
As Sandboy
As Sandboy, he could cause the nightmares/bad dreams of others to be brought to reality by using multicolored sand that came from his pillow cloud, which he used as transportation. The sand was capable of going right through buildings to reach victims. He could also shoot the sand at his opponents from the cloud, and it would still have the same effects. He was also able to get around very quickly and spread his sand to all of Paris using his pillow. He could shoot beams of sand out of his pillow, and when a person was hit by them, the same effect occurred.

Trivia
- Sandboy was first revealed in a promotional video for Season 2 from TFOU.[4]
- His supervillain name is based off the Sandman, a mythical character in Western and Northern European folklore who puts people to sleep and brings good dreams by sprinkling magical sand onto people as they sleep.
- However, his powers operate parallel to the Sandman's, as he brings nightmares to life as opposed to creating dreams.
- He reports to seeing Hawk Moth while being akumatized, calling him a "weird man".
- As a result, he is aware that he is being akumatized, in a similar fashion to Caline Bustier in "Zombizou".
- So far in the series, he is the first villain to see a kwami while akumatized and know what it is.
- He is also the second character in the franchise to be akumatized who does not have a given name, with the first being the fisherman from Miraculous Adventures #2.
- Sandboy appears another time in "Gamer 2.0" for Gamer's powers.
- Sandboy has the distinction of being the only akumatized villain that has made more appearances than its civilian counterpart.
- The boy is also seen wearing the logo of The Owl (Mr. Damoclès).
