“ | Nino Lahiffe, this is the Miraculous of the turtle, which grants the power of protection. You will use it for the greater good. | ” |
The Turtle Miraculous is a bracelet that, whenever Wayzz inhabits it, transforms the wearer into a turtle-themed superhero with the power of Protection.
To activate the bracelet, the user must speak the transformation phrase: "Shell On". To deactivate the bracelet, the user must speak the detransformation phrase: "Shell Off".
The bracelet is currently owned by Nino Lahiffe, who uses it to transform into Carapace. It was previously stored in the Chinese Miracle Box and only lent out to him when the situation required it. In "Strikeback", it was stolen by Félix Fathom, who traded it to Gabriel Agreste in exchange for the Peacock Miraculous.
It was previously used by Wang Fu who used it to transform into Jade Turtle.
In "Destruction", Gabriel used a laser machine to melt down the Miraculous into a pile of dust, and then reforged it into a special Alliance ring for transferring Wayzz's power of Protection to any Akumatized villain who wore a regular Alliance ring.
In "Re-creation", after Marinette Dupain-Cheng manages to recover all of the Miraculous that were previously stolen, she restores the Turtle Miraculous back to its original form and she gives it back to Nino permanently.
Appearance
In general, the Turtle Miraculous is a bracelet that appears to have triangular carvings and shaped like a turtle, with a black string tied through holes in the turtle's head and tail to make a loop. In charged mode, when Wayzz inhabits it, the gem is dark green with five pale green triangular carvings on its shell, along with carvings on the edges of the shell. The underside of the bracelet is dark green with a pale green hexagon-shaped center. If a minor is using the miraculous, the bracelet starts running out of power, and it makes a beeping sound, and the pale green triangular carvings start turning dark green (one part is equivalent to one minute) Nino (or another Turtle Miraculous holder) has left.
In its activated mode, it is completely black with pale green etches of where the carvings are supposed to be.
In its camouflage mode, the bracelet changes color and form depending on whose possession it's in:
- In the possession of Nino Lahiffe, it is fully pale green and the triangular carvings have black outlines. [1]
- When it was worn by Gabriel Agreste, it was a piece with triangular carvings and shaped a like a turtle attached to a silver band with an indent in the front.[2]
- When it was worn Master Fu, it was completely green and had six triangular engravings.[3]
- As an akumatized object, it takes on a reddish color.[4]
- In it's reforged ring form, it was a thick band with a circular surface, similar to the Cat Miraculous, inside of it was the symbol of the Turtle Miraculous which glowed green. It used to sit on the ring finger of Gabriel's right hand.
Abilities
The Turtle Miraculous has the ability to transform its wielder into a turtle-themed superhero, granting its wielder incredible superhuman powers of speed, endurance, agility, stamina and strength. It also makes the user nearly invulnerable.
Its special weapon is an unbreakable Shield, which can be also be utilized as both a weapon, a communicator, and an object that can be used to breathe underwater. Its special superpower is named Shell-ter, which gives the user the ability to generate a massive, spherical green force field in order to obtain their goal, like defeating a villain. As long as the superpower isn't used by a minor, the wielder can remain transformed indefinitely. However, as soon as the superpower is used, the wielder loses power and the transformation wears off in about approximately five minutes. The bracelet also have the ability to give the wielder the costume they truly desire.

Trivia
- Turtles are a symbol of stability, longevity, and protection.
- The Turtle Miraculous does not extend the life of its wearers, not being the reason why Wang Fu has lived for so long.[5]
- During the theme song, the Turtle Miraculous briefly appears in the Miracle Box.
- Although it was originally stated that the Turtle Miraculous' powers will be revealed in "Santa Claws", that didn't happen until "Anansi".[6]
- In "Heart Hunter", in order to protect himself from Hawk Moth, Wang Fu activates the miraculous and becomes Jade Turtle despite being hindered by his old age.
- However, the Turtle Miraculous not being able to display the ability it allow its wearer to reach great heights is a reference to real turtles being naturally slow on land.
- This is the third known Miraculous to be cataclysmed, the first is the Rabbit Miraculous and the second is the Bee Miraculous.
- Chronologically, this is the second known Miraculous to be catclysmed, since the Rabbit Miraculous being cataclysmed happens in an unknown future, and the episode where this miraculous is cataclysmed, "Optigami", is way before the events of this unknown future.
- It's the sixth Miraculous used for evil, even if briefly, following the Butterfly Miraculous, the Peacock Miraculous, the Cat Miraculous (only in the alternate future in "Cat Blanc" and briefly in an alternative timeline in "Ephemeral" by Shadow Noir), the Bee Miraculous (briefly in "Miracle Queen" by Miracle Queen and in "Evolution" by Monarch) and the Eagle Miraculous (briefly in "Miraculous New York" by Miraclonizer).
- In “Evolution” and “Destruction”, Gabriel unifies the Turtle Miraculous with the Butterfly, Rabbit, Fox, Bee, Dragon, and Dog Miraculous, and then later the Butterfly, Horse, and Bee Miraculous to temporarily become Monarch.
- It's the only Miraculous whose transformation and detransformation phrases and concept are mentioned in the episode in which it's first activated ("Anansi").
