Synopsis
Disney Channel
Ladybug and her team face a villain full of imagination.[3]
Gloob
While Marinette struggles with her controlling instincts, Ladybug and her team face a villain full of imagination.
Plot
In La Plage, Cerise is seen writing in a book. In her lair lie multiple stacks of books, hundreds in total.
In Marinette's room, Alya recaps the events of Gabriel Agreste's time as Hawk Moth, Shadow Moth, and Monarch, including facts such as that he was an adult male. Marinette, visibly shaken, adds that he wanted one wish, on the way akumatizing 212 people, and panics that she handed out all of the Miraculous to their separate holders, which she believes could be dangerous due to the possibility of one of the holders being akumatized. Alya reassures her that that is very unlikely to happen as they now know how to deal with their emotions better. As the sun rises, Marinette remembers her and Alya's movie date with Adrien and Nino respectively, but Alya, exhausted from staying up all night, suggests cancelling. Marinette, worried about the prospect of messing up with Adrien encourages her to come, and doesn't give it up.
Later, at a bus stop, the date has not been cancelled, and Alya and Nino handshake. Marinette tries to imitate them, but accidentally pokes Adrien.

Trivia
- Not counting trailers, this is the first released piece of Miraculous media that doesn't include the old animation style at all.
- Besides the new animation, the 2D animation used for calls, messages, long range communications and imagination sequences was replaced by the one used for Miraculous Chibi.
- It is shown that Ladybug had allowed all of her superhero friends to use their Miraculous to help people on their own as long as it is not to fight against an akumatized villain.
- It is also revealed that some of Ladybug's superhero friends have already unlocked their ability to use their powers infinitely as well, as shown when Carapace used his twice in a short period of time.
- Nooroo now has black wings and Cerise paralyzes him whenever she writes down her secrets in one of her notebooks.
- It is unknown if that is Nooroo's new character design or a result of his strict treatment by Cerise.
- Cerise's akumatization process is shown:
- After her Ultrakuma akumatizes her target's object, she and her target appear in a purple void within the target's mind. Cerise calls them by name (showing that the Butterfly Miraculous is capable of revealing this information) and tempts them into accepting the akuma.
- That means Gabriel also knew the names of the victims he akumatized but like himself, he also encouraged his victims to throw their old names away to symbolize their new ones.
- Her victims are the ones to come up with their villain name, after which they transform. She lets them choose their own name to give them the illusion that they are in control and that she only wants to help them.
- When she manifests in her victims' minds to talk to them, she appears as a blank silhouette with no distinctive male or female features and speaks in a combination of both male and female voices, so that the victims are unable to discover her gender.
- She makes sure that her akumatized villains do not share details about her with any member of the French Miraculous superhero team by threatening to remove their powers. This is to further leave the Miraculous team in the dark about her true goal, which is indeed to take the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses to make a wish, as shown in "Miraculous London".
- It is shown that she can partially eject an ultrakuma from the object it was placed in, to further scare her victims into submission.
- This means that the akumatization process can often vary between Butterfly Miraculous holders.
- After her Ultrakuma akumatizes her target's object, she and her target appear in a purple void within the target's mind. Cerise calls them by name (showing that the Butterfly Miraculous is capable of revealing this information) and tempts them into accepting the akuma.
- A part of Bunnyx's transformation sequence music is used after Rena Rouge and Carapace rescue the citizens on the tram.
- Carapace's shield is revealed to be able to be used as a skateboard and Polymouse's skip rope is revealed to be able to be used to swing between buildings (like Ladybug's yo-yo).
- Him using his shield as a skateboard parallels his movie counterpart having the same skills.
- This makes them the fifth and sixth tools to be capable of transportation, after the yo-yo, the staff, the spinning top and the ruyi jingu bang.
- The restaurant Marinette and Adrien were at was Le Café from "Collusion".
- Cerise was shown to have been spying on Marinette and Adrien at that restaurant, though her intentions remain unclear.
- It is revealed that two people were akumatized by Chrysalis before Maya: Caline Bustier (who could have been akumatized in "Climatiqueen") and Caroline (who is akumatized in "Sublimation").
- This means that "Sublimation" takes place before this episode, despite their production codes.
- Futhermore, Miss Hound has her new suit, which she gains in "Daddycop", placing the episode before this one.
- Tikki gives a Kwagatama to Alya by Marinette's request, so that Alya is able to access the latter's memories as Guardian in case anything happens to her. As such, Marinette officially makes Alya her successor, which she stated she would do in "Optigami".
- Through this situation, it is revealed that Miraculous holders can not only get a kwagatama from the kwami they're assigned too, but they can get one from any kwami whether it is by permission from the guardian or as long as they spend enough time together.
- It's unknown if Kwamis that are held captive like Nooroo and used without their own consent or the Guardian's permission can create a kwagatama if ordered by their wielder.
- Since Tikki gave a kwagatama to Marinette in "Befana" and stated she gave one to all her previous wielders in the same episode, this makes Adrien the only one not to have received one from her not counting Gabriel due to him briefly using of her and the Ladybug Miraculous in "Deflagration" and without transforming "Re-creation").
- This is the first time Marinette and Adrien go to the movies as a real couple.
- In both "Ephemeral" and "Jubilation", Marinette and Adrien were both present in the movies as a real couple, but these situations are excluded due to the fact that they take place in realities that do not exist in the real permanent timeline.
- This is also the fifth time they go to the movies after "Gorizilla", "Animaestro", "Gang of Secrets", and "Glaciator 2".
- This is the seventh time Marinette goes to the movies, after the aforementioned episodes, "Syren" with several of her friends and "Truth" with Luka.
- She and Alya and, separately, Adrien planned to go to the movies in "The Puppeteer", but abandoned the idea due the titular villain's interference.
- Overall, this is the second time in the permanent timeline, along with "Miraculous New York" that Ladybug has summoned three Lucky Charms.
- What Marinette said about being afraid of messing up everything leading to her controlling impulses refers to how she was behaving in Seasons 1-4 towards Adrien due to her obsession with him and in the later season in general due to the new burden of guardianship.
- Cat Noir recognizes Ladybug's erratic behavior (most likely from "Gang of Secrets") but only tries to make small talk with and watch over her until she calms down, knowing she won't or can't give a straight answer if he directly asks her what's wrong.
- But this time it's not only about her love life now it's about her worrying for the whole team referencing Marinette's worry for Alya back in "Sentibubbler" and she didn't feel the same about Bunnyx because despite being sad about sending her away at least Alix was somewhere and when Monarch couldn't get her as compared to all the others.
- In Alya's room, multiple photos in the old animation style can be seen in the background.
- The images are from the end cards of "Lady Wifi" and "Animan", and the characters' Instagram accounts.
- This is the second episode that shows fire, after "Elation".
- It's revealed that Fetch can be used on living beings.
- This is the fifteenth time Plagg doesn't make an appearance, following "Prime Queen", "Despair Bear", "Malediktator", "Animaestro", "Christmaster", "Truth", "Furious Fu", "Guiltrip", "Crocoduel", "Qilin", "Destruction", "Determination", "Intuition" and "Emotion".
- This is the eighth time that the akumatized villains are threatened of having their powers taken away, following "Dark Cupid", "Reflekta", "Robostus", "Sapotis", "Miraculous Shanghai", "Sole Crusher", "Simpleman" and "Ephemeral".
- This is the first time since "Risk (Shadow Moth's Final Attack - Part 1)" that a child is akumatized.
- Additionally, after "Sandboy", "Christmaster" and the aforementioned episode, this is the fourth time a child is akumatized in their intro episode.
Errors
- According to Marinette, during Gabriel's time as the Butterfly Miraculous holder, he has been able to akumatize 212 people, including the akumatizations in the "New York" and "Shanghai" specials. However, this is incorrect, as he individually akumatize 76 people, including himself.
- This is also mathematically incorrect, as by counting re-akumatizations, as well as the additional off-screen akumatizations recorded by Marinette in "Mr. Pigeon 72", and by not counting akumatizations that happened in alternative timelines (such as Cat Blanc and Ephemeral, in their eponymous episodes; and Bugfighter in "Intuition"), akumatizations that Marinette is unaware off (such as Gabriel's self-akumatizations in "Dearest Family" and "Conformation", and Nathalie's akumatizations into Catalyst in the eponymous episode and "Ladybug"), that would make around 270 akumatizations, which is a lot more than 212.
- When Carapace turns to look at the drawn ball after helping the passengers from the snail attack, his eyes are not visible through his goggles.
- Ryuko's Water Dragon power is incorrectly referred to as "rain powers" in this episode, from Adrien naming it as such to Ryuko herself saying "Rain Dragon" when she was about to put out the fire from the building.
- Or it's possible that Ryuko can now combine wind and water to make rain.
- When Maya tries to show Marinette her drawing before Marinette is about to transform, her sideburns phase through her ears.
- During the sequence where Ladybug captures the ultrakuma, the yo-yo phases through the camera, allowing the broken inside of the yo-yo to be visible.
- When Ladybug opens her yo-yo, the light emanating from the yo-yo does not stretch behind it or blur as it moves.
- In the post-credits scene, the lighting on the chairs during the zoom-in changes.
- When Rena Rouge undoes her illusions, she says "Vanish" instead of "Reality".
- Or it could be possible that she can use more than only one word as long as it conveys the same meaning or intention.
- Rena Rouge's shadow glitches while trying to interrogate Illustrhater.
- While waiting in line for the movie, Adrien simply slides forward as the queue progresses.
- The same thing happens to Marinette as she is getting on the bus alone with Adrien.
- During the sequence where Ladybug uses the water hose to stop the fire, Ryuko is shown with two swords - one in her hand and another still in the sheath on her back.
- During Marinette and Adrien's date, the man who sits behind them doesn't have his pants in some shots.
