This article is about the cancelled comic book series by Action Lab Comics. You may be looking for the television series or another Miraculous. |
Tales of Miraculous was a planned comic book series about various Miraculous holders prior to Ladybug and Cat Noir. It was originally announced on July 23, 2016, at San Diego Comic-Con International.[1]
The comic series was going to be published by Action Lab Comics, the same company that published Miraculous Adventures. However, as of 2021, Action Lab Comics no longer has the licensing rights to publish any more Miraculous Ladybug comics. Because of this, plans for the comic series have been cancelled.
Trivia[]
- Tales of Miraculous was going to be part of a series of four monthly comic book series that contain original stories published by Action Lab Comics, along with Miraculous Adventures, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug, and Miraculous: Tales of Cat Noir.
- According to Thomas Astruc, this series is part of the "comic book universe" for Miraculous Ladybug. This indicates that it would have taken place within a separate continuity and not the main TV series continuity.
- Because this comic series would have been published by Action Lab Comics, it's unknown if this series would have taken place in the same continuity as Miraculous Adventures as well as the similarly canceled Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Miraculous: Tales of Cat Noir.
- The comics would have involved past Miraculous holders from various places in history like ancient Egypt, Japan, China, and the Middle Ages.[1]
- Even though the comic series never made it to fruition, the main TV series later has an episode called "Reunion" where Marinette gets to learn about one of her predecessors Jeanne d'Arc. Jeanne was a Ladybug superhero known as Scarlet Fate during the Hundred Years' War.
- During Inktober 2017, Feri González drew various artwork of the past Ladybug Miraculous holders and uploaded her drawings on social media. According to Feri, Thomas Astruc is the one who created the idea of who are the past Ladybug Miraculous holders.[2]
- While not clarified if this series was going to be included, according to the official Miraculous Ladybug Tumblr blog, each issue of this series would have included 18-22 pages and one story completed in 3-5 issues.[3]
- Because Mad Cave Studios now has the licensing rights to publish Miraculous Ladybug comic books, it's unknown if Tales of Miraculous would be revived by them.
