The Stratrain is a high-speed train that connects the Gare du Nord in Paris to London via the Channel Tunnel.
In "Startrain", after thought she failed the test to become an astronaut, Claudie was akumatized in Startrain, also transforming the train with her.
Appearance[]
Normal[]
External[]
The Startrain is a twin-engine train. The front of these has a large window that starts from the base and continues to the roof. There is a black part on each side with two yellow quadrilateral headlights. The sides of the motor cars are white, with the beginning of the train represented in blue. The logo of the Startrain is a simplified version of the train in the shape of a Star.
The Startrain consists of several one-story carriages with big side windows. The color of these wagons is white with a solid blue bar on the bottom engine level. Each wagon has a sliding door at its end. There are light panels above the doors indicating the destination, the stations served, as well as other information.
Internal[]
The cabin is very spacious and predominantly white. The driver sits on a large white armchair with blue support and comfort cushions. From there, the diver has access to drive controls, including the gear lever on which a standby system is installed. This system requires the driver to always keep their hand on the lever. If you let go of the lever, the train will automatically brake until it stops completely. Under the window, a screen provides important information for travel and passenger safety.
The interiors of the wagons are more or less the same. The seats are white with blue cushions. However, differences are noted between First-class wagons and second-class wagons.
First-class[]
In the first-class wagons, the seats are wider than in the second-class wagons. The seats can be reclined according to the wishes of the occupant. They have larger head rests, wider armrests, and separations between the twin seats. Depending on the configuration, a center table is available for travelers.
Second-class[]
In second-class wagons, the seats do not provide additional comfort to passengers. The seats are all twin and smaller than those in first-class. The seats are closer together, and the windows are smaller.
This difference between first-class wagons and second-class wagons is also visible through access; 1st class wagons have automatic doors, while 2nd class has manual doors.
Akumatized[]
Under the effect of Claudie's akumatization in Startrain, the train changes its color palette to red. The headlights and the window turn red. Like the rest of the train, the interior also turns mostly red. Only the head cushions of the seats remain in their original color. The driver's cabin remains relatively the same, with the only change being the color of the infrastructure and the buttons changing shape.
Abilities[]
Normal[]
The Starstrain is a particularly fast train capable of connecting Paris and London in record time. Furthermore, this train appears to be particularly resistant, proof of this is the fact that it does not appear to have suffered much damage when it collided with Big Ben in London.
In case of problems with the driver, the standby system allows you to stop the train gently to avoid an accident.
Akumatized[]
Under the effects of Claudie's akumatization in Startrain, the train was able to break through the Channel Tunnel, move through water, air and space.

Trivia[]
- The Startrain becomes the first location that we see Hawk Moth transform in other than in his lair, in "Backwarder".
- The Startrain is the fifth item, after Roger's police car in "Rogercop", Gina's mortcycle in "Befana" and "Dearest Family", Anarka's boat in "Captain Hardrock" and "Crocoduel" and Santa Claus's sleigh in "Santa Claws", which was akumatized together with its owner.
- The Startrain is likely based on the Eurostar, which is a real-life, international, and high-speed train that stations at the Gare du Nord. Like the Startrain, the Eurostar also connects London to Paris via the Channel Tunnel, which Miss Bustier's class went through in the episode "Startrain".
- The purple logo that can be found on corner of the Startrain's doors and advertising, as well as Claudie Kanté's uniform, appears to be based on the logo of the SNCF, which is the owner of the Gare du Nord and the main owner of the Eurostar's company in real life. This implies that the in-universe version of the SNCF is called "Le Train," and owns both the Gare du Nord and Startrain.
- In "Bakerix", Nadja Chamack remarks that the Startrain can reach London "faster than flying by plane!" If this is true, it can reach London in less than an hour and 15 minutes, because that is the average flight time from Paris to London in the real world.[1]
- To compare, the real-life Eurostar usually takes around 2 hours and 16 minutes to do the same trip.[2] It is the fastest train in the UK,[3] the 9th fastest train in the world, [4] and can reach speeds of 334.7km/h, or 208 mph.[3] This may make it appear slower than flying, but the difference is more than made up by adding check-in and luggage recovery times at the each airport, which is not an issue on the Eurostar.
- In "Backwarder", it is shown on the train conductor's monitor/touchscreen that this is Startrain 3004; that it is 11:08am; that there are 1654 passengers on board; that it is 463 km, or 278 miles, to London; and that it is 20º C, or 68º F.
- The characters sit in subtly different-looking travel classes on the Startrain. First class has rows with both paired and single seating, with tables available to certain seats. The chairs can recline, have bigger head rests, squarer arm rests, and even microphones attached to them. There are also dividers between seats in the paired seating sections. Standard class has paired seating only, the chairs are smaller, there are fewer tables, and there are no microphones or dividers available to the passengers who sit here. The first class versus standard class setups basically match that of the Eurostar's.[7]
- The differences in the travel classes are best portrayed in "Startrain", where Chloé sits in first class, while the rest of Miss Bustier's class sits in standard.
- In "Backwarder", Adrien, Kagami and their parents are presumably supposed to be in first class, but there are inconsistencies throughout the episode. Out of the four scenes on the train, only one of them has them sitting in first class, while the other three make them look like they are in standard class. Examples: 1, 2, 3.
- In the episode "Félix", he and his mother sit in a class where the chairs and seating plan match that of standard class, indicating they may not be as wealthy and prestigious as the Agreste's. Although, this may simply be an inconsistency like the one mentioned above.
- The Startrain has at least one bar-buffet, as a glimpse of it is seen in "Backwarder", after Adrien and Gabriel exit the restrooms. There are most likely multiple more buffets on the train, similar to the Eurostar.[7]
