The Shield is the tool of the Turtle Miraculous.
The current owner of the shield is Nino Lahiffe, who uses it as the superhero Carapace.
Previously, it was used by Gabriel Agreste when he used the Turtle Miraculous with the other Miraculouses in his possession to become Monarch. And also, it was formerly used by Master Fu when he used the Turtle Miraculous to become Jade Turtle.
Appearance[]
The shield changes color depending on whose possession it's in:
- When it is used by Carapace, the shield is large, round and flat. The outer side of the shield is dark green, while the inner side is light green with jagged lines running from the edge to the center of it.
- When it was used by Jade Turtle, the shield had a conical shape and, when not in use, was used as a hat.
- When it was used by Monarch, the shield changed color from green to purple.
Abilities[]
The shield is shown to be extremely durable, able to withstand multiple direct hits from Anansi with seemingly no damage. It can even handle lightning, Pharaoh's punches, and Riposte's sword, as seen in "Mayura". The Turtle Miraculous' superpower, Shell-ter, involves the shield, with the user holding up the shield to generate a force field[1] which is a nearly indestructible barrier to defend the user and others. However, Carapace has been seen utilizing the power without the use of the shield. When not in use, the shield can be carried on the Turtle Miraculous holder's back, as seen in concept art with Carapace and in "Anansi".[1]
Jade Turtle, however, wears the shield on his head similar to an Asian conical hat, an homage to his Chinese heritage.
While not yet seen, the shield can be used as a communicator in some manner.[2]
