Pocket dimensions are different worlds from the same universe that no longer exist, due to connected events being altered. There are several instances where characters physically go to another plane, to otherwise fix unfortunate events; the dimension with the unrepaired event then becomes an pocket dimension.
The current known methods that grant interdimensional travel capabilities that can create alternate dimensions are usage of a time-related Miraculouses or akumatized or amokization powers connected to plane.

Bringing someone from the Past to the future[]
In "Evolution", due to Monarch's, Ladybug's and Rabbit Noir's many time hops the trio end up in 1940's France at night but not a normal one it's the night Master Fu left Paris to escape from the Nazis. Aware that Monarch tagged the Rabbit Miraculous with the ball the duo asked Master Fu for the Past Dog Miraculous and then bringing 1940's Barkk into the future she became aware of some of her fellow kwamis' future owners.
Akumatization[]
The power of of the Butterfly Miraculous, Akumatization, is used to transform an ordinary person into a superhuman with special superpowers that correspond to that person's nature or circumstances. This can include powers related to dimension and dimensional travel.
Pixelator[]

Pixelator's pocket dimension.
Pixelator could take pictures with the camera over his right eye, which he could see through. When he hits the button, a light blue ray of pixels shot out. If it hit a person or animal, the pixels surrounded them. The pixels reformed the victims in a white world inside of a photograph, the photographs themselves appearing on Pixelator's wall in his room, where they could move and be seen moving from the real world.
Kwamibuster[]
Kwamibuster's pocket dimension.
While Kwamibuster didn't have any superpowers, she wielded a vacuum-like gun attached to a canister on her back. Any Kwami hit by the beam from her vacuum would be sucked in and trapped in the canister, unable to phase through. It would even work on a Kwami that is inside a Miraculous.

In "Feast", whatever the Dormant Sentimonster ate would be trapped in a pocket dimension within its stomach for all eternity.
