“ | Dust from the sky, now precious, will fix the wings of the injured animal. Combine the molten gold with the meteorite powder then add the peacock feather. | ” |
The Peacock Miraculous is a brooch[1] that, whenever Duusu inhabits it, transforms the wearer into a peacock-themed superhero with the power of Emotion.[2]
To activate the brooch, the user must speak the transformation phrase: "Spread My Feathers". To deactivate the brooch, the user must speak the detransformation phrase: "Fall My Feathers".
The brooch is currently owned by Félix Fathom who uses it to transform into Argos. He received it as part of a deal he made with his uncle to help him steal all the Miraculous from the Chinese Miracle Box.
It was previously owned by Gabriel Agreste who used it to transform into Shadow Moth by combining it with the Butterfly Miraculous. It was also previously owned by Nathalie Sancoeur, who used it to transform into Mayura, who used it for evil purposes and Emilie Agreste, who fell into an infinite sleep.
Gabriel Agreste reveals that the Miraculous was damaged under unknown circumstances, however, at the end of Miracle Queen, Gabriel was able to repair the Miraculous with the aid of the tablet he had stolen from Master Fu, which contained a translated version of the spellbook.
Appearance
In its charged mode the brooch changes from seven or nine feather segments to five. Its main color is pale, light grayish blue-violet, while the crystals on the top of each segment are red or pink, depending on the episode. The lower part of the Miraculous also changes from the body of a peacock into a single teardrop. As seen in "Ladybug", "Truth", and "Evolution" the actual damage to the Peacock Miraculous itself includes visible cracks on the back of the Miraculous. If a minor is using the miraculous, the brooch starts running out of power, it makes a beeping sound, and the crystals start disappearing one at a time as an indication of how much time (one crystal is equivalent to one minute) the Peacock Miraculous holder has left.
In its activated mode, the crystals on top turn black.[3]
In its camouflage mode, the brooch changes color and form depending on whose possession it's in:
- In the possession of Félix Fathom, the brooch looks like a peacock with an orange raindrop-shaped gem and dull gold triangle at the bottom center and with five dull gold tail feathers coming out from it with arrow-like geometrical patterns. It has an orange pearl-like gem topping each tail feather segment.[4]
- When it was worn by Gabriel Agreste, the brooch was gold and shaped like a peacock. It had seven tail feathers and on each of them they had red-purple rubies.[5]
- When it was worn by Nathalie Sancoeur, the brooch had the appearance of a peacock with the shape of a peacock's body and head at the bottom center and with nine light sea-green tail feathers protruding from it. It had a teal pearl-like gem on each tail feather segment and a blue gem at the base, which served as the peacock's body.[6]
Abilities
The Peacock Miraculous grants its wielder superhuman characteristics of speed, endurance, and strength.[7]
Its special weapon is a hand fan. This weapon can be used as an offensive weapon and a means of communication with other Miraculous owners, as seen in "Miraculer".
The Peacock Miraculous' superpower is Amokization, which allows the user to manifest a Sentimonster, a living creature manifested from a person's emotions. This is achieved by turning a feather into an amok and sending it to inhabit an object belonging to the recipient. The Sentimonster will obey whoever possesses its amok. The wielder of the Peacock Miraculous has the power to revoke the amok, destroying the Sentimonster and purifying the charged feather. Users of this power will often command the amok to create a sentimonster by speaking the phrase "Bring my creation to life".
The wielder can also form a telepathic connection between themself and their target and can see and hear through both the target and the Sentimonster. However, this connection only exists between the original creator and amok, as they possess no link between Amokitized people and Sentimonsters created by other wielders. They can also sense where an amok is, even when the Miraculous isn’t in use. In the case of a Sentimonster being dormant, the wielder can resurrect the dormant creature. By concentrating the wielder can sense the feeling and emotions of a Sentimonster.
The wielder can also use the power on themselves, namely by charging an amok and placing it in an object the wielder possesses. They can then create a Sentimonster that is completely loyal to them, so long as they possess the amok.
The wielder can get rid of a sentimonster by snapping their fingers or speaking the phrase "I release you from existence", even if the sentimonster was created by a different wielder. They can also cause the Sentimonster pain, to make it heed the Peacock Miraculous holder.

Trivia
- Peacocks symbolize integrity, vision, and vibrancy.
- As seen in "The Collector", the Miraculous spellbook has a depiction of the Peacock Miraculous that is blue and has five tail feathers. However, in "Mayura", the Peacock Miraculous uses the five-feathered design when inhabited by Duusu and the nine-feathered design when in its camouflaged mode.
- As noted during an event with the writers, it was "weird" that Plagg didn't recognize it when he and Adrien looked inside the safe in "Volpina".[8]
- It has been confirmed that the jewel stored in the safe at that time wasn't the real Peacock Miraculous and is merely a copy created by Gabriel. However, the Peacock Miraculous shown in "Mayura" is clearly the real Miraculous, shown by it being in its charged state, which is activated by having a kwami in its Miraculous.[9]
- According to Gabriel Agreste, the Peacock Miraculous was "damaged", which resulted in it causing an adverse effect upon its holder when being used. This is demonstrated by Nathalie's coughing and fatigue as a result of using it.
- In "Reflekdoll", the Peacock Miraculous malfunctions between its camouflage and charged state when Nathalie activates it before her transformation.
- In "Ladybug", cracks can be seen on the back of the Miraculous.
- As seen in "Miracle Queen" and "Truth", the Peacock Miraculous was fixed by Gabriel Agreste using the deciphered spellbook on Master Fu's tablet.
- The Peacock and Butterfly Miraculouses have rather similar powers.
- Both allows the user to charge small things with magic to infect objects of specific people and telepathic communication with them.
- They are also the only two known superpowers which the user does not need to say the superpower's name to activate it.
- Interestingly, both Miraculouses take the form of brooches, which may cast light on the fact that they have such similar powers.
- However, the Butterfly Miraculous's power of Akumatization cannot be used on the wielder (unless they renounce it), unlike the Peacock.
- Unlike Kamikotization/Akumatization, however, Amokization can infect an object that's been destroyed, although it is still possible to damage it further to release the Amok.
- Also, unlike Kamikotization/Akumatization, the Sentimonster can only be controlled by the one who possesses the object containing the Amok, while the power to control Kamikotized/Akumatized champions belongs to the Butterfly Miraculous owner.
- Like the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses, the legacy of the Peacock Miraculous dates back to Ancient China and is over 5000 years old.
- Exactly how the Peacock Miraculous was damaged whilst the Butterfly was not is unclear.
- According to Gabriel in "Nathalie as seen by Gabriel", it was actually Nathalie that found the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculouses.
- In "Lies", "Furious Fu", "Guiltrip", and "Optigami", the Peacock Miraculous is depicted in its activated form on Shadow Moth's chest instead of its charged one.
- The Miraculous has been used by the most people in one family/household, five, having been used by Emilie Agreste, Colt Fathom, Nathalie Sancoeur, Gabriel Agreste, and Félix Fathom.
- Peacocks are known to be emotional support animals, potentially inspiring the concept for the Peacock Miraculous.
- The Peacock Miraculous is the first known Miraculous to change its user's skin color.
- The Peacock Miraculous is the first miraculous to be used by a hero of the French Miraculous superhero team that was previously used by a supervillain.
- From a certain point of view, while the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses might be the most powerful out of all the known jewels, the Peacock Miraculous could be considered the most dangerous one.
- For example, if a criminal got their hands on the Peacock Miraculous, they could create Sentimonsters based on people that don't even exist to commit crimes, such as murder, robbing banks, etc. And after the deed is done, all the Peacock holder would have to do is recall the Amok. And since it's unlikely the police would know about the existence of the Miraculous, they couldn't do anything about it because there's no greater criminal than criminals that don't exist at all. Even worse, the Peacock holder could create Sentimonsters based on real people to frame them for crimes they didn't even commit.
- Worse, in the hands of a terrorist, the Peacock holder could assassinate political figures and subsequently create Sentimonster copies of them, allowing the Peacock holder to use them as puppets to take over the world. As Ladybug observed in "Ladybug", the powers of the Peacock are so cruel when misused.
- Félix considers the Peacock Miraculous as being part of the Graham de Vanily's legacy, since it was used by his aunt, Emilie, and was the tool that gave life to him and his cousin Adrien (the two descendants of the Graham de Vanily family). That was another reason that led him to get it from Gabriel, as he believes that it can only be used by someone related to the Graham de Vanily.
