Because the values you stand for are good, because you are the positive incarnations of Shadybug and Claw Noir. It may seem like they have more power than you, but they don't have your strength, because they know nothing about trust and friendship.

Plot

Miraculous World - Paris Special 043

Betterfly prepares to cross over to the Quantic Universe.

In an alternate universe, Betterfly and Alya watch the news broadcast in his lair, displayed by Maxkov, relaying the events of "Strikeback" to them. Betterfly asks Maxkov if they have a chance to jump to this universe, in which Maxkov answers that they have a 92.7% chance of succeeding. Shortly after, the two turn to Nino, who runs onto the catwalk and warns them that Shadybug and Claw Noir are arriving. After Alya reasons that they have no other choice, Betterfly kamikotizes her into Ubiquity. Shadybug and Claw Noir destroys the pathway and leaps before a terrified Nino.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 067

Gabriel in pain with his Cataclysmed arm shortly after his escape.

Back in the Quantic Universe, Gabriel returns to his lair and reels in pain as he holds his Cataclysmed arm after escaping the Musée Grévin. He exits out of the news on his phone and attempts to contact Nathalie, only to be directed to her voicemail, much to his frustration. He leaves his lair and stands in front of Adrien's door. Adrien is seen sitting on his couch, watching the news on mute. Though he reaches to knock on his door, his sleeve slides down, showing off the scar left by the Cataclysm. Gabriel immediately pulls it up and walks back to his study room. In Adrien's room, Adrien expresses his worries about his power to Plagg. Though Plagg relates through his love for cheese at first, after realizing Adrien's concern was genuine, he decides to comfort him, assuring him that destruction is a path to build anew.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 116

Marinette is reassured by Alya that she will recover the stolen Miraculouses.

Back in Marinette's room, Marinette and Alya share the same discussion as in the end of "Destruction", with their talk ending with a hug between them. While Tom and Sabine watches the news in their living room, Tikki flies down to a plate of macaroons and takes a bite of one, catching Tom's attention. Tom alertedly looks at the plate, but shortly relaxes. He confesses to Sabine that now that Monarch has stolen all of the Miraculouses, he isn't sure of he'll ever stop worrying. Sabine reassures him that Ladybug and Chat Noir have already recovered the Rabbit Miraculous, and that things will return to normal. After she finishes off the macaroon, Tikki flies back to Marinette's room.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 152

Betterfly arrives to Marinette's room through Ubiquity's portal.

Marinette confides in Alya that she isn't sure what she can do now that Monarch has all the Miraculouses, leaving her and Chat Noir to face him without them. Alya consoles her, saying that she can't lose hope, before suddenly standing up and stepping away. Alya abruptly transforms into Ubiquity, with Betterfly jumping through her cape immediately after. Betterfly pleads with Marinette to take him to Ladybug and Chat Noir, but Marinette, unsure to whether trust him, declines his request, denying any knowledge of their whereabouts. Alya briefly regains consciousness and wonders if he's Monarch, but Betterfly begins explaining that Alya is an ally in his universe and created a portal connection between his and their world. Alya is soon taken over by her alternate counterpart once more, alerting them that Shadybug and Claw Noir forced her to reopen the portal and warned them to run.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 196

Shadybug and Claw Noir follow Betterfly to Marinette's room.

Betterfly scoops Marinette into his arms and jumps out of her balcony door before Shadybug and Claw Noir step through the portal, holding a destroyed Maxkov and Nino hostage. After Claw Noir shoves Nino back through the portal, Shadybug rips his belt off and restrains Ubiquity with it. Shadybug has a quick look around the room, voicing her distaste at the various images of Adrien, who she deems a "perfect, stuck-up brat". Claw Noir is quick to defend him, to which Shadybug claims he must be a huge fan of his. She jumps on Marinette's bed and briefly glances at her photo board before looking up at the balcony, stating Betterfly must've gone out through there. Claw Noir summons his Cataclysm and blasts the bedroom wall with it before leaping out of it, which consequently alerts Tom and Sabine. Shadybug orders Ubiquity to stay where she is before swinging out.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 240

Shadybug and Claw Noir track down Betterfly in the Quantic Universe.

Betterfly runs along the rooftops with Marinette in his arms as Ubiquity informs him that Shadybug and Claw Noir had tied her up. Betterfly thanks her for her effort before removing her power, returning the original Alya back. Sabine knocks on the bedroom door and asks if the girls are okay. Alya quickly reassures her that they are and that the loud noise was caused by a video game with the volume too high. Sabine tells her to not stay up too late, which Alya promises they won't. Alya then searches the room and finds her phone, which is completely cracked from Monarch's visit. She rushes to Marinette's computer and calls her through it. Once Shadybug and Claw Noir meet each other on top of a skyscraper, Claw Noir complains that the city is too big to be able to find Betterfly. Shadybug then calls her Lucky Charm and uses it to locate Betterfly. She informs Claw Noir that it's a pair of special binoculars that can detect the scent of a kamiko. After a short squabble between the two, Shadybug eventually picks up the scent of a kamiko making its way towards the Eiffel Tower.

At the Eiffel Tower, Betterfly leaps his way to it while still carrying Marinette. He jumps up it, before setting Marinette down on a step of one of its staircases. He tells her to stay here where it is safe. The kamiko flies into Betterfly's cane as Marinette is surprised that it is not an akuma and Betterfly is confused as to what that is. Suddenly, the Eiffel Tower is being destroyed as debris starts falling to the ground as Claw Noir and Shadybug have found where Betterfly and Marinette are hiding. Claw Noir cataclysms the staircase Betterfly and Marinette are on as they fall.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 269

Marinette and Betterfly see Claw Noir threatening to destroy the Quantic Universe.

Betterfly lands safely and catches Marinette just in time. Asking whether or not Marinette is ok, she nods. Betterfly escapes the area with Marinette still in his arms, Shadybug and Claw Noir arrive at the ground too late. They call out for Betterfly to reveal himself as he and Marinette are hiding behind a wall quite a distance away. Claw Noir threatens if not, he will destroy the entire planet as he activates a huge Cataclysm (reference to "Cat Blanc"). Shocked and scared, Betterfly tells Marinette to be safe as he comes out of his hiding spot, running towards the two supervillains as he yells out at them to stop, telling them that the people from this universe have done them no harm. Claw Noir withdraws his Cataclysm as Shadybug summons up a sword as her Lucky Charm. They fight as Marinette watches. Just then, Alya video calls Marinette as she picks up. Alya concerningly asks Marinette if she managed to escape Betterfly, Marinette responds by informing Alya that she believes Betterfly may actually be another Butterfly Miraculous holder who is a superhero instead of a villain as she shows the duel between Shadybug, Claw Noir and Betterfly as she gasps in surprise.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 309

Tikki explains to Marinette about the existence of parallel universes.

Meanwhile, Betterfly tries to tell the villains that it is possible for a better world. Shadybug and Claw Noir ignore his words as he is sent flying due to being hit by one of Shadybug's Lucky Charms. Astonished the supervillain duo has the same powers as Ladybug and Cat Noir, Alya is confused as Tikki explains that Shadybug and Claw Noir are from just one of the many upon billions of parallel universes in the Multiverse. She elaborates further that there is not enough time in any human's lifetime to even explain just the basics of the Multiverse and its parallel universes. Back to the fight, Betterfly's attempts to convince the supervillains that they are being manipulated by The Supreme. Marinette asks Tikki how these underage villains can repeatedly use their powers without transforming back. She tells Marinette that using the power comes from vital energy from the kwami but also the user and that there is a security system. However, thanks to the Miraculouses being used for evil, the countdown is overridden and that the two villains are paying a terrible cost. After instructing Alya not to let her parents enter her room, Marinette transforms into Ladybug and decides to join in on the fight.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 370

Claw Noir forces Cat Noir to Cataclysm him.

Just as he is trapped, Betterfly tries to plead to the villain duo to join The Resistance, but they refused. About to grab the Butterfly Miraculous from him, Ladybug swings her yoyo at Shadybug's arm as she looks confused. Presenting herself, she orders the supervillain pair to set Betterfly free. Trying to persuade the two to relinquish their Miraculouses as they are meant to be used only for the greater good, Claw Noir charges towards Ladybug and starts to try to attack her with his staff. Shadybug creates a car, kicks it and traps both Betterfly and Ladybug with it. Just as Claw Noir is about to kick the heroes, Cat Noir comes in the nick of time and kicks Claw Noir. Cat Noir threatens to cataclysm Claw Noir if he doesn't give up. Instead, Claw Noir forces the hero to Cataclysm him and now having a crack in his chest, Cat Noir stumbles back, shocked and horrified. While Claw Noir kicks Cat Noir and sends him flying into a building.

Miraculous World - Paris Special 435

A kamikotized Cat Noir saves both Ladybug and Betterfly.

Introducing himself, Butterfly shows himself to Cat Noir as he is perplexed. Ladybug promises to explain the entire thing to him. The heroes and the villains fight. With no other choice, Betterfly charges up a kamiko and kamikotizes Cat Noir, who understandably refuses it at first. Trying to tell him that he is a good person and is trying to help his situation, Cat Noir accepts the power offered and is kamikotized into Celesticat, an white angelic cat superhero. He grabs Ladybug and Betterfly and flies off. Shadybug uses her yoyo to grab on to Celesticat by his belt, but using her Lucky Vision, Ladybug undoes his belt as Shadybug falls to the ground as Claw Noir pretends to caught her. Unconscious due to the impact, Claw Noir attemps to grab her Miraculous but she wakes up and grabs his finger, twists it and prevents her just in time. Celesticat continues carrying Betterfly and Ladybug and flies, dropping them off in the sewers. Betterfly dekamikotizes Celesticat as his kamiko is revoked and he turns back into Cat Noir.

In Monarch's lair, Gabriel who unifies the Butterfly and Horse Miraculouses becomes Monarch and creates a megakuma. Using the power of Voyage, the megakuma is transmitted to the area where the fight is occurring. Shadybug who sees the megakuma panics and believing it to be a Kamiko, uses Claw Noir as a shield. Cataclysming it, they argue over whose fault it was that they got angry and made Betterfly to detect their emotions. Calming down by taking deep breaths, Shadybug announces she has a plan as to what the next step is. Monarch who is in his lair, notices his trace of the megakuma is non-existent as well as their negative emotions and detransforms back into Gabriel.

In Marinette's bedroom, Alya notices the yo-yo entering it and quickly jumps off Marinette's computer and hurries off to hide. She sees Shadybug and Claw Noir entering it and searching through Marinette's belongings for a clue. She breathes a sigh of relief that she hasn't been found out yet.

Betterfly compliments Ladybug and Cat Noir's world, saying how they're partners and help each other and how in his, helping other people is considered a crime. Betterfly goes on that ordinary civilians are unaware of the existence of the Miraculouses as they are a secret. He explains how The Supreme uses them to perpetuate his evil rule on the alternate universe where Butterfly is from. Trivia

  • Unlike the previous two "Miraculous World" specials, this special has two different intros: the first one is a remake of the series' intro song centered on Betterfly, and the second one is the normal "Miraculous World" intro.
    • In the first few lines of his song Betterfly says "Fear is a cage", which might be referring to his counterpart Monarch who gave into or fell into so many fears and destroyed everything.
    • This could also refer to when Monarch is going to put the kwamis in cages showing his dominance but also the fearful position of the kwamis.
    • This is the second special following "Miraculous Shanghai" to have a cold open and no post-end card scene.
  • The special is set within "Destruction", starting after Gabriel's arm is wounded by Cat Noir's Cataclysm, but before he reconfigures the Miraculouses into rings, in the overlapping events of "Multiplication", but before the events of "Jubilation".
    • This also increases the record for the most episodes happening on the same day and night, now six, including "Risk", "Strikeback", "Evolution", "Multiplication", "Destruction" and this special.
    • This special is what ends the night where Gabriel gets all the Miraculous and is Cataclysmed by Cat Noir, as it ends when the sun rises and the next morning.
  • This episode reveals more insight about the Cat Miraculous and Cataclysm as well as the Ladybug Miraculous and the Lucky Charm:
    • It is revealed that if Cataclysm is used on a transformed unrestricted Cat Miraculous holder, they will not die. It will simply leave an uninjured mark where they were hit, such as Claw Noir's chest being wounded as a result of it being used on him.
      • However, one has to consider that the Cataclysm only wounds a transformed Miraculous holder, taking between weeks and months for the wound to become fatal, and that, at the end of the battle, Shadybug used her Miraculous Shadybug to fix all the damages caused since the moment they arrived to Ladybug and Cat Noir's world, including his Cataclysm wound Claw Noir forced Cat Noir to inflict to him.
    • The Cataclysm can also be used to blast through objects. As Claw Noir was blasted through the roof of Marinette's room.
    • It is revealed that when Lucky Charm is used by a transformed unrestrained Ladybug Miraculous, they can summon as many Lucky Charms as they want but only use one at a time and disspell it without the Miraculous Ladybug superpower.
      • This was first seen in "Re-creation", which happens later chronologically.
  • Many references were given related to the season 4 finale and the first three episodes of season 5:
    • Gabriel is seen returning to his lair after being Cataclysm-ed by Cat Noir in "Destruction".
    • Nadja is seen reporting about Monarch acquiring all the Miraculous from Ladybug and the villain's promise to attack Paris relentlessly until he gets the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses from "Strikeback".
      • As the entire interview was broadcast in the Paris newspaper, including the part where Monarch gives his speech, this explains how Max was able to deduce that the Peacock Miraculous was no longer in Gabriel's possession in "Multiplication" and know the correct calculation that equals all the Miraculouses he had in his possession. Most likely he must have counted all 16 symbols that showed the number of Miraculouses that Monarch possessed and immediately discarded the Rabbit Miraculous upon learning that it had already been recovered.
    • Gabriel tries to contact Nathalie, with her not answering and letting the call go to voicemail, with that referring her decision to stop helping him in "Evolution".
    • The plastic tube Lucky Charm that Ladybug used to trap Monarch in "Destruction" can be seen on the floor when Gabriel goes to the elevator of his lair. It most likely disappeared when Ladybug either de-transformed or called the cone Lucky Charm during her first fight against Shadybug and Claw Noir.
    • After leaving his lair and deciding not to talk with Adrien, Gabriel goes to his atelier, most likely to start designing his future attire to better hide his Cataclysm-ed body, as seen in "Multiplication" and "Destruction".
      • Interestingly, this marks the last time Gabriel is seen wearing his standard civilian attire from seasons 1-4.
    • Adrien is shown to be depressed over what he did to Monarch in "Destruction", with him starting to question if he should have the power of Destruction.
    • The first part of Marinette and Alya's talk at the beginning is taken from "Destruction".
    • After Tom becomes worried about Monarch having almost all the Miraculous that Ladybug had, Sabine reminds him she already recovered one, referring to the Rabbit Miraculous, which she recovered in "Evolution".
      • This means that, even if the battle for the Rabbit Miraculous was not seen, all Parisians became aware of what happened, most likely because of the news helicopter hovering the scene.
        • This also makes it clear that before Bunnyx spent her entire time inside the Burrow, she was formally introduced to the public before her departure. This is further proven in "Determination", due to her having a statue of herself in the Musée Grévin.
    • When Monarch saw that his plan wasn't working nor could he sense any akumatization he believed Ladybug set up another trap and quickly fled refusing to be deceived again like in "Destruction".
    • Just as in "Evolution", right after Monarch used the power to travel to parallel universes, just when Alya as Ubiquity was about to sent Betterfly, Ladybug and Paw Noire home because of the power link they shared she could sense his connection and Ladybug and Cat Noir travelled through the parallel universes to stop him.
      • Like on both occasions, Gabriel was ignorant of the consequences and rules of the powers.
    • Cosmobug and Astrocat flying to London to enact their plan resembles them returning to London in "Multiplication".
    • Cat Noir realizing Shadybug and Claw Noir's powers, meeting Betterfly and Ladybug telling him she'll explain everything later is also callback to "Strikeback", where she battered herself for hiding things from him.
    • Betterfly appearing through a portal in Marinette's room is what Monarch did in "Destruction".
  • As well as foreshadow events in many other episodes after it:
    • As in "Sentibubbler", Marinette mentions the phrase from the theme song where she says she is just a normal girl, this same phrase would be repeated by her again in "Jubilation", "Elation" and "Transmission".
    • Cat Noir being kamikotized into Celesticat foreshadows him and Ladybug being dressed in white in their dream wedding in "Jubilation" and Cat Noir understanding Ladybug and being frightened in his nightmare in "Representation".
    • Monarch uses Venom, Voyage, Multitude and Sublimation to create invisible clones of himself that can teleport as well as immobilize people, this same plan would be repeated by him later in "Illusion" and "Deflagration".
    • Alternate Nino being apart of the Resistance foreshadows the original Nino setting up his own in "Illusion".
    • The use of Cataclysm on a human would be seen again in "Determination" with Manipula, as well as Cat Noir also using it to threaten other villains in "Jubilation", "Derision" and "Representation".
    • Claw Noir trying to use cataclysm on Monarch but him being protected by Resistance is the same trick Plagg tried to do in "Deflagration".
    • In Mister Bug's universe is likely the spin off of when the duo switched their jewels temporarily in "Reflekdoll" and foreshadows them doing it again "Passion".
    • Also Adrien knew about the ultimate power and even thought about using it to bring his mother back but realized for it to happen another innocent family would end up like his broken and couldn't wish it upon anyone. Which foreshadows in "Passion", his desire to change his wish similar to Betterfly and Marinette's living in a world where everyone is happy and free.
    • Adrien being fearful and doubtful about his powers foreshadows what Felix is going to learn when he returns to Paris in "Emotion".
      • Just like Shadybug and Claw Noir, Felix is going to be beaten emotionally as well.
      • And foreshadows Ladybug using the revelation ability of her Lucky Charm on Felix as well as understanding him better and how hurtful, lonely and angry life can be when you feel like you have nothing for one reason or another but also how appreciative, thankful and understanding towards life people should be.
      • Such as Shadybug yelling just that and foreshadows Marinette feeling that way in "Transmission".
    • The heroes' kamikotizations in this special may also foreshadow Monarch's failed attempts to akumatized them in "Elation", "Transmission" and "Derision".
    • When Shadybug mentions being bullied by Chloe, foreshadows her counterpart being bullied in "Derision".
    • Which is also interesting due to chronological placement of the movie this foreshadows the return of Scarabella and the debut of Kitty Noire in "Kwami's Choice".
    • Shadybug and Claw Noir having the adult version of their powers albeit incorrectly foreshadows the duo finally getting them in "Revolution".
      • Also their final confrontation with their counterparts foreshadows the one they're going to have with Chloe; despite her and the dark duo breaking down in tears they did it for different reasons, Chloe did it out of regret, loss and changed for the worst while the dark duo did it out of remorse, acceptance and changing for the better.
    • This special as many correlations to the events of "Re-creation":
      • The dark duo appearing in Betterfly's lair, their versions of Tikki and Plagg hugging each other before revealing their true forms, and Betterfly mentioning how the Miraculous and their powers should be shared.
      • Marinette's idea of transforming back in front of Shadybug to persuade her to change her ways is the same thing she tried to do later with Gabriel.
        • And in fact, as the special takes place chronologically long before "The Final Day", this could in fact be the explanation for why she decided to trust Gabriel to the point of doing exactly that. But unlike him in "Re-creation", Shadybug was able to realize that she was in fact right and that she didn't need any Miraculous to make her life better.
        • Even though Gabriel and Shadybug changed their minds, they really got what they wanted but unlike Shadybug, Gabriel had to pay the price for his desire at the cost of his death.
        • Coincidentally, Marinette transformed back while she was performing a unification with the Miraculouses that the villains so desired.
      • Betterfly's idea of sharing power among all possibly inspired Marinette's choice of permanently giving all the Miraculous to their owners in "Re-creation", proclaiming that power needs to be shared for the greater good.
      • Shadybug uses a baker's shovel created by the Lucky Charm to attack Betterfly and the handcuffs to restrain Claw Noir foreshadows Bug Noire doing the same thing to Monarch in her fight with him in "Re-creation".
        • "Evolution" and this episode foreshadows Bug Noire using the same moves as Cat Noir and Paw Noir in her fight against Monarch.
      • As well as Betterfly coming for Ladybug's help which also foreshadows Gabriel now finally asking for his enemies help but it was too late.
      • Marinette briefly wearing the Butterfly Miraculous despite it being from a parallel universe foreshadows the main one ending up with Cerise.
      • When talking to Claw Noir about refusing to use the wish to have another family end up like his, unknown to Adrien foreshadows Emile saying the same thing in her videos.
    • Where Ladybug and Cat Noir had the final confrontations with their counterparts is not only where Shadybug and Claw Noir learned to change themelves but also the Quantic Duo learned about each other and themselves in "Derision", and "Revelation".
    • The heroes hiding in the sewers foreshadows Monarch setting up a trap for them in "Illusion" and Felix escaping in "Pretension".
    • The Supreme cutting off the Absolute Power, so only he could use it foreshadows how Monarch is going to change the Miraculouses in "Destruction".
    • The reformed counterparts holding hands as they returned home likely implies a couple ship foreshadows what's going to be for their main counterparts near the second half of Season 5.
  • This episode also has callbacks to "Cat Blanc", "Reverser" and other episodes:
    • When all of them ended up at the Eiffel Tower, as Claw Noir was right under it, he attempted to destroy everything but in "Cat Blanc", Cat Noir did it by accident.
    • While there Cat Noir got struck with a kamiko and in the former episode he was struck with an akuma both were done by his father but the difference was the main Hawk Moth knew who the hero was and demanded his help while Betterfly didn't and yet only asked.
    • Ladybug seeing Cat Noir kamikotized into Celesticat in an all white suit with wings likely reminded her of Cat Blanc but this time she expressed no fear.
    • From "Cat Blanc", he got knocked to the Eiffel Tower from his home whereas Cat Noir got knocked away.
    • Shadybug hitching a ride on Celesticat and being pulled along is what Ladybug did with the titular villains in "Reverser", "Rogercop", and "Timebreaker".
    • Shadybug and Claw Noir changing their suits resembles what Ladybug did in "Mr. Pigeon 72", Alya did in "Rocketear" and Cat Noir in "Kuro Neko".
    • The duo's counterparts learning of each others identities is a callback to the times Ladybug and Cat Noir's found out each others in "Oblivio", "Cat Blanc" and "Ephemeral".
    • Like Cat Noir hesitating to trust Scarabella in "Hack-San", he and Ladybug were the same in trusting Betterfly.
    • The heroes hiding in the sewers is a callback to "Mayura", "Desperada" and "Optigami".
    • Cat Noir trapping his counterpart in a life preserver is resembles what he did to Timebreaker in "Gang of Secrets".
      • Him kicking to Claw Noir to an "Adrien the Fragrance" ad, resembles when Cat Noir got tossed to it by Oni-Chan in the titular episode.
    • When Marinette mentions too of feeling hurt, angry and scared calling back to "Origins", "Glaciator", "Miraculous Shanghai", "Miracle Queen", "Miraculous New York", Season 4 and many others.
    • The same with Cat Noir as he felt lonely too without having any friends after his mother was gone due to feeling left out by his father and Ladybug when she became the guardian.
  • It's revealed that, when used for good, the Butterfly Miraculous superpower has a different name, as well as the butterflies used on it. The power is called Kamikotization, and the butterfly is called a kamiko.
    • It's also revealed that the transformation phrase for a Butterfly Miraculous holder that is a superhero is "Nooroo, light wings rise" and the de-transformation phrase is "Nooroo, light wings fall".
  • When Alya video-calls Marinette through her computer, a PDF file can be seen. Judging from the file name "anglais", this appears to be an English test.
  • It's revealed that in the show, there are billions of parallel universes, and kwamis live their lifetimes in all these universes simultaneously.
    • In one of those universes, an entity called "The Supreme" possesses all the Miraculous and has used them to dominate the world, with the existence of the Miraculous being unknown to everyone except the ones The Supreme entrusts them with.
      • Gabriel Agreste joined the Supreme and stole two of their Miraculous (Butterfly and Peacock) so he could get what he wanted most, only to lose his wife, which led him to want to prevent anyone else to suffer, becoming the holder of the Butterfly Miraculous called Betterfly, who uses his kamikos to fight the Supreme.
      • According to the Betterfly theme song, Emilie used to be the holder of the Peacock Miraculous (like her counterpart). She used it to become pregnant with Adrien. It's unknown if that is the real reason why she died, as it's unknown if the Peacock Miraculous also got damaged in that world.
      • In the alternate universe, Marinette never had friends and the severe bullying of Chloé led her to join the Supreme and become Shadybug. She also hates Adrien Agreste and doesn't get along with Claw Noir.
      • Additionally, Adrien was not able to move on from his mother's death, unlike his father, and also joined the Supreme, becoming Claw Noir. He also has a crush on Marinette and doesn't get along with Shadybug.
      • The Supreme has given Shadybug and Claw Noir the mission to recover the two Miraculous Gabriel had stolen.
      • Despite the fact that the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous are able to summon Gimmi, the kwami of reality, to allow someone to have a wish, that ability has been sealed by the Supreme, in order to prevent the holders they choose to wear it from using it, not even telling them about it. So, despite the fact that the holders can still force Tikki and Plagg to reveal their real forms, they cannot have them merge themselves.
    • In another universe, Alya and Zoé are the holders of the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses respectively, becoming Scarabella and Kitty Noire who fight a supervillain who, at least, is the holder of the Peacock Miraculous.
    • In another universe, Marinette and Adrien have switched Miraculous, with her being Lady Noire and him being Mister Bug as their status quo.
    • Two other universes were shown, referencing the original Ladybug PV that preceded the current series and the many comic book adaptations.
  • It's revealed that the reason why underage Miraculous holders need to de-transform back after summoning their superpowers once is because the use of the Miraculous takes energy from both the kwami and the holder, enabling a countdown timer that prevents them from using their powers before they are ready.
    • It's revealed that, besides growing up, akumatization and using time-related Miraculous, the only other way to override the countdown is for using a Miraculous for evil, which allows the young holders to use their powers multiple times, but with that taking a great toll on their bodies, causing a magical necrosis similar to those caused by the effects of Cataclysm. However, if the young holders reform and with the Miraculous Ladybug (superpower), then the corruption is reversible.
    • Which would explain why the kwamis warned their owners of never using their Miraculouses for selfish or evil reasons.
    • And yet, it's also unknown why Team Miraculous or at least Ladybug and Cat Noir didn't ask why they couldn't access their full powers a lot sooner.
    • If the conditions of Shadybug and Claw Noir according to Tikki are the same in every parallel universe and for every minor miraculous holder then it's unknown why it didn't happen to Félix and Chloé.
      • It could be for what they did wasn't completely evil (in the terms of what they wanted) so neither of them had enough evil or sadness within them to override the security measures on the miraculous and yet it could also be that the duo were able to get the jewels away from them or have them repent their ways before the condition could take effect.
      • It should be noticed that the only times Chloé used the Bee Miraculous unintentionally for evil purposes, she had been akumatized (into Queen Wasp in "Queen Wasp" and into Miracle Queen in "Miracle Queen", where Hawk Moth manipulated her into betraying the duo for his goals in the latter). Meanwhile, with Félix, it is seen that he only used his power twice and he always de-transformed once he had created those two sentimonsters, therefore preventing him from overriding the security lock.
      • What could also be another factor is time as the evil counterparts most likely were in constant possession and use of their jewels while Chloe and Felix weren't.
  • This is the first special where Ladybug, Cat Noir and Monarch's transformation sequences aren't shown.
  • This is the twenty-first and second time that Ladybug's Lucky Charm is an object that appeared in a previous episode. This time it was the traffic cone that previously appeared in "Timebreaker" and the mirror that previously appeared in "Pixelator", "Reflekdoll" and "Optigami".
    • Shadybug's amount of lucky charms also include a car with previously appeared in "Glaciator 2", the helmet that previously appeared in "Glaciator" and "Psycomedian", the weapons that previously appeared in "Malediktator" and "Qilin", the sunglasses that previously appeared in "Strikeback" and the handcuffs that previously appeared in "Frightningale".
    • Interestingly, although Shadybug summons at least three Lucky Charm swords, none of them are the giant sword that many villains who used Ladybug's powers against her used. However, the Sentimonster Ladybug summoned a rocket launcher just like Shadybug.
  • Claw Noir reveals a previously unseen use of the Staff - it can grow claws out of either end and split apart to reveal a nunchaco.
  • This is the fourth time Cataclysm is used on a real person, following "Miraculer", "Miraculous New York" and "Destruction".
    • This is the second time Cat Noir uses Cataclysm on a human being, with the first time being on Monarch and this second time being on Claw Noir.
      • Unlike the first time (and just like in "Miraculer"), the damage done on Claw Noir was reverted by Shadybug using her "Miraculous Shadybug".
  • This special shows Monarch creating a megakuma while on his first version for the first and only time.
    • Interestingly, while there were empowerings in this episode, they were all kamikotizations. Not a single akumatization was shown. This was possibly because Monarch knew that using akumatization would be pointless, since Betterfly would be able to undo it. Both kamikotization and akumatization are both the same power.
      • This marks the first special to not have an akumatization.
      • However, even if there was no akumatization, Monarch did try to akumatize Shadybug and Claw Noir, before knowing what was really happening, only failing because Claw Noir used his Cataclysm on his megakuma, thinking it was a kamiko.
        • This is the only time Monarch tried to akumatize someone in his Pre-Rings suit.
        • Counting alternate timelines, this is technically the second time a Cataclysm has been used directly on an Akuma/Megakuma, following "Cat Blanc".
  • When Shadybug reads Marinette's diary, flashbacks to "Ladybug & Cat Noir", "Mr. Pigeon", "The Bubbler", and "Gang of Secrets" are seen. There's also one which references the wish discussed in "Robostus".
  • This special reveals the evil transformation and de-transformation phrases for the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses:
    • For the Ladybug Miraculous, the transformation phrase is "Blots on" and the de-transformation phrase is "Blots off".
    • For the Cat Miraculous, the transformation phrase is "Daggers out" and the de-transformation phrase is "Daggers in".
  • This is the second time Cat Noir's night vision is seen, following "Stormy Weather".
  • It's revealed that the Fountain Pen can be used to write the name of a power that will be granted by Sublimation.
    • Probably its use serves for more complicated powers that need a specific formulation, so they can work the way the user wants them to work.
  • Production for the special started in 2022, along with Season 6 & Miraculous London.[22] The script first started being written in the same year.[23]
  • During production, the special was known as "Into the Re-Verse" (referencing Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) or just "Re-Verse".[24][3]
  • The planned Miraculous and Ghostforce crossover was scrapped in favor of this special.
  • The official synopsis and French title of special were revealed on June 27, 2023, in the TFOU 2023-2024 programming presentation.[6]
    • The first teaser - then labeled "work in progress" - was shown in the related conference the next day. It was later officially released on September 30, 2023, via Disney Channel France.[25]
  • According to Thomas Astruc, a spin-off featuring characters from the Re-Verse would be "too expensive" to produce, but the universe would be seen again in the future.[26]
  • This is the first piece of Miraculous media to have ZAG's, Method Animation's, Mediawan Kids & Family's (formerly On Kids & Family), De Agostini KidsMe's (formerly De Agostini and DeA Kids), Disney's, and SAMG's new logos in its credits.
  • Despite the first half of all three "Miraculous World" intros being nearly identical, there are differences between this one and the previous two:
    • The Miracle Box in Ladybug's hands disappears and she gets sad.
    • The old design of the Miracle Box is seen in the other shots, and has the Supreme's symbol on its bottom side.
  • This is the first time ever where a Miraculous fusion is done in a TV movie special and the first one, in general, to involve a Miraculous from another universe.
  • As well as where the other kwamis from the Chinese Miracle Box make an appearance in a miraculous special for the first time.
  • This is the first time a Miraculous tool ear communicator is broken.
  • This special marks the first time Marinette is fully akumatized (or in this case kamikotized) after interruptions in "Zombizou", "Mayura", "Chameleon", "Cat Blanc" (alternate timeline) ,"Ladybug", "Elation", and "Derision".
    • As for Adrien, if we ignore the alternate timelines, this is the first time he is akumatized fully unlike the previous two examples but if included than this is the third.
    • This is the first time where both of them were akumatized fully.
    • In Alya's case, this would be the seventh, eighth, ninth, and (also if include her first indirect kamikotization in the special) tenth time she has been akumatized (or kamikotized) overall, following "Lady Wifi", "Mayura", "Oblivio", "Félix", "Gang of Secrets" and an off-screen akumatization as Lady Wifi that was revealed in "Mr. Pigeon 72". This time, she becomes Ubiquity which is her fourth akumatized (or kamikotized) form overall.
  • Between both universe versions, this episode breaks the record for the most uses of Lucky Charm, Cataclysm and Akumatization (or Kamikotization).
  • When Betterfly saying "stronger together" may be a reference to the tagline used in the promotion Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie. Master Fu also says it when he met Ladybug and Cat Noir in act 2.
  • Claw Noir playing with the dolls while sitting in Marinette's chaise resembles what his good counterpart did in "Syren".
  • Ladybug's Lucky Charm mirror in a way served as a double meaning for Cat Noir through Claw Noir as well. What they didn't know is it gave them insight about Monarch's problem.
  • This is the sixth time where a Lucky Charm object breaks (excluding the broken plate in "Troublemaker"), following by "Robostus", "Weredad", "Miraculer", "Psycomedian" and "Hack-San".
    • This is the third time the Lucky Charm object has been destroyed by Cataclysm, following "Weredad" and "Hack-San".
  • This is the sixth time where the space power-up is used following "Miraculous Shanghai", "Miraculous New York", "Dearest Family", "Ephemeral", and "Multiplication".
  • This is the sixth time Gabriel is after another Miraculous that wasn't just the Ladybug or Cat, he sought to take the Butterfly Miraculous from the Re-Verse from his alternate self following "Sandboy", "Ikari Gozen", "Miraculous New York", "Miraculous Shanghai", "Sentibubbler", "Reunion" and "Pretension".
  • Shadybug grabbing Claw Noir's middle finger is a reference to the Mortal Kombat 11 announcement trailer where Raiden breaks Scorpion's finger[27]
  • When the endcard appears the sound effect is similar to Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Newcomer splash screen[28]
  • In Sabine's contact list, Gina's contact is with what seems to be her maiden name Bianchi. Since she is listed with her maiden name, it's possible to that she started using it after splitting up with Roland.
  • When Shadybug tells Ladybug that she doesn't have a boyfriend who think she's a loser, it's possible that she might have dated Luka or either Kim in her world since she isn't aware of Adrien until she saw who Claw Noir really is.
  • There are two minor differences between the trailers and the final version of the special:
    • When Alya from the Re-Verse is kamikotized, the background and lighting are different.
    • When Shadybug walks out of Ubiquity's portal, her silhouette is darker in the final version.
  • Shadybug/Ladybug calls Claw Noir/Paw Noir "Fleabag", like Ladybug in "Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie".
  • After Cat Noir makes the giant Claw Noir illusion disappear, he says "Could it be that, it's just an illusion", referencing the song "Just an Illusion" by Imagination.
  • All photos of Adrien on Marinette's board, except the one in the bottom left corner, are from "Lies".
  • For an unknown reason, Ladybug's angry Lucky Charm sequence from "Psycomedian" is used, instead of the usual one.
  • This is the first movie special to take place entirely at night and then sunrise at the end.

Errors

  • The mouse cursor on Marinette's computer is shown to be black, even though it was white in "Gorizilla".
    • Marinette could've simply just changed it after the episode.
  • When the Miraculous Shadybug passes over the Eiffel Tower, nothing changes.
  • When Claw Noir asks Adrien why he didn't try to use his and Ladybug's Miraculouses to bring his mother back, Adrien explained if he did that, someone else's mother would have to take her place. However, he only learned the benefits and consequences of Ultimate Miraculous Absolute Power weeks later in "Passion" with Marinette's explanation.
    • It's possible Master Fu told him before losing his memory.
  • If Betterfly used the Butterfly Miraculous for evil in the past and yet when he changed he started calling the butterflies; kamikos he shouldn't have been confused when Marinette called them akumas and there are few reasons for this:
    • It could be that like his original counterpart he didn't know that his power had an opposite side.
    • What he said was true and apart of his commitment to change was that he vowed to never use the dark name of his power again.
    • Depending on how long he has been using the jewel for good maybe he forgot it's dark name.
    • When Betterfly joined the Supreme at first maybe he was given a different jewel at first but when he defected he stole the Butterfly and Peacock jewels like he said but lost the jewel used in his plan while fleeing with the other two.
  • There are many errors related to Monarch throughout the special:
    • When Monarch transforms in his lair he switches positions between shots, having his arms out. Additionally, his tie is missing for his hand.
    • When he is transformed, the Miraculouses that he doesn't use are in their camouflaged modes instead of activated modes.
    • When he de-transforms after Claw Noir cataclysms his Megakuma, he says "Dark Wings Fall" instead of "Reverse Morphosis".
    • When he adds Mullo, Pollen and Orikko to the unification at the top of the Eiffel Tower, he forgets to mention the names of Trixx and Stompp.
      • Also after this addition, the Fox and Ox Miraculouses suddenly return to their camouflaged modes as if they get automatically disabled.
      • Moreover after this, Monarch no longer has the Fox Miraculous' Flute or the Ox Miraculous' Mallet.
        • Although it is possible that he simply divided them offscreen, no longer needing their powers.
      • Also, when he activated the Rooster Miraculous, he automatically gained the power of invisibility, without manifesting it by speaking Sublimation.
    • When Monarch uses the Mouse Miraculous to multiply himself, he says "Multiplication" instead of "Multitude".
    • When Monarch multiplies himself, the other two versions have all the Miraculous with them too. But as seen in "Kwamibuster" when Multimouse uses her power, her versions don't have any other Miraculous except the Mouse one.
    • In the scenes where Monarch seems to be using the Rooster Miraculous, it is actually in its activated mode instead of charged mode.
    • When Monarch unifies Nooroo and Orikko lastly in his lair to travel across universes, he reaches the Fountain Pen on his back but in reality it was on his right arm, so he couldn't take the pen with just only one hand from his arm.
  • When Shadybug gives back the Cat Miraculous to Adrien, the ring is initially in its camouflaged mode then enters its activated mode. It should've initially been in its activated form, and then turn into the camouflaged one.
  • In the flashbacks of Adrien about Marinette in the Re-Verse, and when Shadybug gives the Cat Miraculous back to Adrien, his miraculous has different camouflage modes.
  • Deneen Melody isn't listed in the English credits, despite Kitty Noire speaking in the first alternate universe Monarch visits.
  • Shadybug calls her Lucky Charm without saying the words several times throughout the special.
    • According to Thomas Astruc, they have a rule on this, but it would be too long to explain by a tweet.[29]
  • In the end card, Ubiquity's skin is lighter than usual.
  • After Ladyfly de-transforms in front of Shadybug, Nooroo is missing.
  • In Gabriel's lair, Mullo is miscolored white and has the wrong ears.
  • When Claw Noir tries to steal Shadybug's miraculous shortly after she fell from the sky, she grabs the former's index finger but in the next shot it is shown to be his ring finger.
  • Mister Bug's eyes from the alternate universe are like Cat Noir's, instead of normal green eyes.
  • When the special was first released on Disney Channel in Latin America, an unfinished version was aired with a lot of errors:[30]
    • There are no backgrounds during Ladyfly's unification, the 2D universe, and the end card.
    • While he's in the background, Maxkov doesn't have his face, instead just having Markov's eyes.
    • When Betterfly is kamikotizing Alya in his lair, a strangely edited light mask appears on her face after the close-up shot of the elevator.
    • A device's screen is doubled in three separate scenes: when Tom and Sabine are watching TV, when Marinette and Alya speak from the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, and when Alya shows the heroes her recording of Monarch's plan.
    • A black screen briefly appears before Cat Noir accepts being kamikotized.
    • There are no special effects over Tikki's and Plagg's revealed forms.
    • A shade (seemingly Hawk Moth's) is seen behind Gabriel before he transforms to send an akuma after Shadybug and Claw Noir.
    • Guardian Angel disappears for a frame while marking Ladyfly and Cat Noir, and Ubiquity doesn't have a portal effect at the bottom of her cape. Furthermore, during the whole scene in London, the flashback effect is missing.
    • While going after Ladybug and Cat Noir, Monarch is only partially invisible.
    • When Scarabella fixes everything, no ladybugs appear.
  • Multiple errors occur in the Latin American dub of the special:
    • The Scarabella from the alternate universe is voiced by Marinette's voice actor.
    • Shadybug uses Ladybug's detransformation phrase, instead of a unique one.
    • In the version aired on Channel 5 in Mexico, the voiceover "reads" the first logo as "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir".
    • In all broadcasts, the voiceover calls the special "Miraculous Ladybug: Escape from the Re-verse".
