This article is about the cancelled comic book series by Action Lab Comics. You may be looking for the television series, another Miraculous, or another Cat. |
Miraculous: Tales of Cat Noir was a planned solo comic book series about Cat Noir. It was originally announced on July 23, 2016, at San Diego Comic-Con International.[1]
The comic series was going to be published by Action Lab Comics, the same company that published Miraculous Adventures. However, as of 2021, Action Lab Comics no longer has the licensing rights to publish any more Miraculous Ladybug comics. Because of this, plans for the comic series have been cancelled.
Trivia[]
- Miraculous: Tales of Cat Noir was going to be part of a series of four monthly comic book series that contain original stories published by Action Lab Comics, along with Miraculous Adventures, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug, and Tales of Miraculous.[2]
- According to Thomas Astruc, this series is part of the "comic book universe" for Miraculous Ladybug. This indicates that it would have taken place within a separate continuity and not the main TV series continuity.
- Because this comic series would have been published by Action Lab Comics, it's unknown if this series would have taken place in the same continuity as Miraculous Adventures as well as the similarly canceled Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Tales of Miraculous.
- The series would have been set in the USA rather than in Paris, France. Cat Noir would have visited places like Los Angeles and New York, meeting other ZAG Heroez.[1]
- Even though the comic series never made it to fruition, the Miraculous World TV movies later reused this concept with the premise of both Ladybug and Cat Noir travel to other countries around the world and meet other heroes there.
- In the main TV series continuity, Cat Noir traveled to New York City in "Miraculous New York" and met the United Heroez.
- According to Thomas Astruc, Cat Noir would have met "new ZAG Heroez". However, it's unknown if the heroes he's referring to are from other ZAG-produced shows like Ghostforce and the Power Players.
- In the main TV series continuity, there'll be an upcoming TV movie special that would be a crossover between Miraculous Ladybug and Ghostforce. The TV movie will be released in 2024.
- Even though the comic series never made it to fruition, the Miraculous World TV movies later reused this concept with the premise of both Ladybug and Cat Noir travel to other countries around the world and meet other heroes there.
- While not clarified if this series was going to be included, according to the official Miraculous Ladybug Tumblr blog, each issue of this series would have included 18-22 pages and one story completed in 3-5 issues.[3]
- Because Mad Cave Studios now has the licensing rights to publish Miraculous Ladybug comic books, it's unknown if Miraculous: Tales of Cat Noir would be revived by them.
