Miraculous: Tales from Paris is a series of 2D-animated webisodes released on YouTube.[2] They were designed by Angie Nasca.[3] The web series first launched on January 18, 2017, on the Miraculous Ladybug YouTube Channel.
According to the official Tumblr blog, 26 webisodes were originally planned.[4] However, after five episodes, production ceased on Tales from Paris and focus shifted to the chibi series.[5]
Description
The series is about the everyday life of Marinette, and it features various students from Miss Bustier's class.[6][7] According to André Lake Mayer, "The 2D format will let us explore new creative executions while staying true to the 'Zag style' of inspirational storytelling, visually intriguing, fun, relevant and high quality content."[8]

Trivia
- The webisodes were originally planned to come out in late October 2016, but they were delayed to January 2017.
- The series was originally announced to be designed by Nathanaël Bronn.[2]
- Early concept art of the series was labeled with the title Miraculous: Adventures of Ladybug. The same title was used on concept art for a CGI villain, Style Queen.
- YouTuber Lindalee Rose was originally going to appear in some of the webisodes as a young interviewer. However, because of the series' cancelation, it's unknown how far the production was for the webisodes that featured her.[9]
- Ezra Weisz received the scripts for the web series on December 14, 2016.[10]
- The five known webisodes aren't released in production order. As seen from a photo of the script Ezra posted on Instagram, "Repetition" is actually the first webisode produced but the third to be released. Ezra further confirmed this during a Periscope live stream on December 19, 2016.[11] However, it's unknown what is the production code for the remaining four released webisodes.
- On December 19, 2016, Ezra revealed on a Periscope live stream that he managed to see the finished animation of the first five webisodes of the series and got sixteen scripts before the cast start dubbing them.[11] It's unknown exactly how many webisodes have been completely animated and dubbed prior to the series' cancellation. Because those webisodes were never released nor there was any behind-the-scenes footage of the cast recording them surfaced, they are considered lost media.
- Three voice actors have confirmed to record lines for their characters who were going to appear in the unreleased but completed webisodes.
- On December 22, 2016, Ezra mentioned that Kira Buckland came to record a webisode that featured Alix.[12][13]
- On January 6, 2017, Michael Sinterniklaas came to record a webisode that featured Nathaniel.[14]
- On January 18, 2017, Ezra indirectly revealed that Grant George came to record a webisode that featured Kim.[15]
- Despite there's no official confirmation if Ben Diskin has recorded his lines for Max, it's likely he was also going to appear in an unreleased webisode.
- Three voice actors have confirmed to record lines for their characters who were going to appear in the unreleased but completed webisodes.
- Reba Buhr started recording the webisodes on January 2, 2017.[16]
- On January 5, 2017, the Dubbing Brothers USA Instagram indirectly revealed that Mela Lee and Ben Diskin arrived at the studio to record some of the webisodes.[17][18]
- Ezra Weisz (credited as "Ethan Murray") is listed as part of the voice cast in the end credits. However, it's unknown what character(s) he was going to voice in the web series.
- Lila Rossi and Ivan Bruel are the only characters in the class whose voice actors aren't listed in the end credits. However, it's unknown if Lisa Kay Jennings and Max Mittelman have recorded their lines for their characters despite both Lila and Ivan appearing in the title cards.
- Plagg appeared in concept art, but it's unknown if he's going to make any physical appearance in the series due to his voice actor being uncredited.
- The web series was going to mainly focus on the civilian life of Marinette and Adrien.[19] As a result, their superhero identities, Ladybug and Cat Noir, don't appear in the web series.[20]
- The webisodes have been confirmed to be canon to the main show by the official Miraculous Ladybug Tumblr blog.[21]
- All the five released webisodes have been adapted into comics for the Miraculous Adventures series.
