Series overview
Marinette and Adrien are two collège students almost like the others, with a similar difference: they were chosen to save Paris from the sinister Hawk Moth. Their mission is to capture the akumas, butterflies sent by the supervillain to change Parisians into supervillains. For this, the students use their magic jewelry, Miraculouses, and transform into superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir.[2]

After her first experience of superheroine, Marinette has doubts: is she really made for that? But the stone giants wake up and Paris needs Ladybug and Cat Noir. Together, they meet at the Eiffel Tower to confront their leader, Stoneheart, who has kidnapped Mylène. Our vigilantes will discover the one who is really hiding behind this attack: Hawk Moth…[3]
Trivia
In the first issue, when Nooroo is explaining the history of the Miraculouses to Hawk Moth, instead of the Greek pottery showcasing Herakles as one of the examples of Miraculous holders, an unknown ancient Egyptian Miraculous holder displayed on a wall with hieroglyphs appears.
Also, instead of eating a cookie to refuel after Ladybug defeats Stoneheart for the first time, Tikki eats a croissant.
