The Louvre Palace is a former royal palace located on the right bank of the Seine in Paris, between the Jardin des Tuileries and the church of Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois. It houses the Louvre Museum in the center of the courtyard.

The Louvre Palace covers a built area of over 135,000 m2, making it the largest palace in Europe.
Built under the Ancien Régime, the palace was the long-time Royal Residence of the King of France who had it built and renovated over five centuries. It was built on a rectangular plan in Renaissance, Classical and Neoclassical styles, with many internal courtyards, open or closed. The palace has a bright facade and a blue roof.
Access to the Louvre Palace is through several passages. The most important are the Louvre stalls. These are large vaulted openings that allow entry, but also exit, into the interior courtyards of the palace. These stalls directly overlook the Place du Carrousel.
To the west of the square are the Jardin du Carrousel and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which open onto the Jardin des Tuileries. To the east is the Cour Napoléon. This courtyard is particularly famous for the Louvre Pyramid built in its center, the entrance to the Louvre Museum.

Louvre Museum[]
The largest museum of art and antiquities in the world, the Louvre is the most visited museum in the world with nearly 10.2 million annual visitors. It is the most visited paid cultural site in France. Among its most famous works are the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, the Red Scribe, the Nike of Samothrace and the Code of Hammurabi.
Decorative arts[]
They are a French cultural institution that brings together museums, educational institutions and libraries around the art of living, decorative arts, design, fashion and textiles, advertising and graphics.
At the Louvre Palace, this institution occupies the Rohan and Marsan wings (107 rue de Rivoli). There is the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Museum of Fashion and Textiles, the Museum of Advertising, but also the Library of Decorative Arts.
There are also the Ateliers du Carrousel. They offer several workshops at different levels to learn and improve the techniques of drawing, painting, modeling, etc.
École du Louvre[]
It is a French higher education institution created in 1882, dependent on the Ministry of Culture. This school offers training in art history, archaeology, epigraphy, history of civilizations, anthropology and museology. It is located in Paris, in the Flore wing of the Louvre Palace.
Research and restoration center of the French museum[]
Occupying the site of the Carrousel and the Pavillon de Flore, it is the State operator in the field of research and restoration concerning museum collections.
Carrousel du Louvre[]
It is an underground shopping center located between the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Garden, under the Pyramide Inversée of the Louvre which forms the roundabout of the Place du Carrousel.
This shopping center is 16,000 m2 and has more than 50 shops and stores.
