Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie[19] (also known as Ladybug & Cat Noir Awakening during early production)[20][21] is an animated musical film based on Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. It was released in France on July 5, 2023, originally planned to be released around Summer 2022.[22]

Synopsis

Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie is an animated musical, romantic fantasy adventure based on the eponym global entertainment phenomenon. Ladybug & Cat Noir light up the screen as their quest teaches the audience about family, bonds, responsibility and the hearts of two young souls.[23]

Official The Movie site

When a ruthless villain threatens to steal two magic jewels with extraordinary faculties - the Miraculous - fragile teenager Marinette is chosen to put on the superhero costume of Ladybug.

Juggling her newfound powers and school, she joins forces with a charismatic crime fighter, Cat Noir.

Little does she know that behind the mask hides Adrien, the shy classmate she has fallen for. As their secrets and hearts collide, the chaotic duo sets off on a daring mission to defeat Hawk Moth's despicable plan.

From the ghastly catacombs of Paris to the dazzling heights of Notre-Dame, it is ultimately love that sweeps them on an unforgettable journey.[24]

Plot

Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a socially anxious teenager, goes to school trying to avoid being noticed. Despite sparking a friendship with another student, Alya Césaire, Marinette finds herself desperately attempting to avoid the wrath of rich girl Chloé Bourgeois. While attempting to escape, Marinette runs into model Adrien Agreste and develops a crush on him. Adrien has become incredibly emotionally distant from others due to his mother Emilie's passing. Similarly wracked by her death, Adrien's father, Gabriel, uses the Butterfly Miraculous, a magical jewel, to turn into Hawk Moth, to find the Miraculous he needs to make a wish and bring his wife back to life.

Hawk Moth's appearance is sensed by Wang Fu, guardian of the Miracle Box, who chooses to release the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, only for them to run away. He is saved from an incoming bus by Marinette, still running away from Chloé, while he realizes that she deserves the Miraculous. Marinette ducks into a corner shop in an alley and is found by Tikki, the Kwami of Creation, while her polar opposite, Plagg, the Kwami of Destruction, makes his way to Adrien.

Both become Ladybug and Cat Noir and eventually run into each other, working together to defeat the Gargoyle, an "akumatized" villain created by Hawk Moth from negative emotions. Following the fight, Wang Fu follows them and stresses the importance of them sticking together.

Marinette initially refuses to continue being Ladybug, but Hawk Moth recruits more villains and they wreak havoc at a carnival. Gathering the courage to fight, Marinette transforms once again, and defeats them, alongside Cat Noir.

Months pass, and Marinette plans to confess her feelings to Adrien, whilst Adrien plans to confess to Ladybug. Being unaware of their true identities, neither confession goes well. Defeated, Hawk Moth akumatizes himself and unleashes an apocalypse on Paris, prompting Ladybug and Cat Noir to go into action. The heroes are overwhelmed, and Ladybug has her earrings taken, but Marinette can briefly power through to help push Cat Noir away from Hawk Moth. When Cat Noir's mask is damaged, Hawk Moth discovers that Adrien is Cat Noir, he renounces his Miraculous powers and breaks down. Adrien forgives his father, while Marinette reclaims her earrings and returns the Butterfly Miraculous to Wang Fu before repairing the damage done to Paris with her powers. Gabriel is possibly arrested, while Marinette returns to her family.

The day of the Winter Ball arrives, and Marinette arrives in a beautiful dress much to the crowd's pleasure. She finds Adrien, revealing that she knows his identity, having seen his reconciliation during the fight, and reveals her identity as well. They then share a kiss.

Later, Nathalie Sancoeur, the Agrestes' assistant, goes to the basement underneath their house. In the basement is the body of Adrien's mother, wearing the Peacock Miraculous.

Trivia

  • The film has been described as a mix between Spider-Man and Frozen.[65]
    • From Frozen:
      • Both movies involved families of high class or royalty.
      • Both families were close until a tragic accident that led them to be separated:
      • For the Agrestes, the loss of Emilie.
        • Elsa accidentally struck Anna with her magic, so Anna's memory was altered just to save her as well as the loss of their parents.
      • But unlike Anna until her sister's coronation, Adrien already knew why he and his father were separated and yet, he didn't know how deep it truly was until the film's end.
      • Elsa's and Gabriel's hearts were gripped by negative feelings, such as grief and fear; but Gabriel's heart was more twisted by revenge like Hans, then by combining it with his powers, something terrible happened.
        • Elsa unleashed an eternal winter, but she did it by accident, while Gabriel unleashed terror and knew the price to pay.
      • Both Elsa and Cat Noir were nearly on the end of receiving death blows until they were saved by loved ones: for Elsa, by Anna, and for Cat Noir, by Marinette.
      • Elsa and Gabriel both broke down in tears at what their selfish, vengeful, and yet fearful ways of their magic could have made them lose.
        • Everyone in Paris and Arendelle saw the traitorous actions of both Hans and Gabriel, as well as the latter possibly being sent to jail and punished for his crime like the former.
      • An act of love was used to restore and fix everything in both films.
    • From Spider-Man:
      • Both Peter Parker and Marinette are social outcasts, but were chosen to be heroes; Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider while Marinette was chosen by the Kwami Tikki, who looks like and can turn into an insect.
      • Peter and Marinette are friends with someone from the higher social class: Peter is friends with Harry Osborn while Marinette is friends with Adrien.
      • Both became the enemies of people they admired and looked up to: Peter looked up to Norman Osborn while Marinette admired Gabriel.
  • A Ladybug & Cat Noir art figure, based on the movie, was going to be released on June 29, 2020, but it was delayed due to COVID-19.[66][67]
  • Thomas Astruc, the series creator, as well as all the other writers and directors of the show, weren't involved in the production of the movie.[68] Rather, it is Jeremy Zag's own vision of Miraculous.[69]
  • Some early sources claimed that the film would include already seen and new Miraculous holders (such as Rena Rouge, Carapace, Queen Bee, etc.), although Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth are the only ones to appear in the final film.[70]
  • Plagg's animal form bears a striking resemblance to a black sphinx cat.
  • Dead or Alive's 1985 song "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" can be heard in the scene where Gabriel checks the tailor's shop. This is absent from some releases of the movie, though.
    • Additionally, George Michael's "Careless Whisper" is played in the scene where Cat Noir falls in love with Ladybug after defeating the Gargoyle, and also right before Cat Noir transforms to fight Hawk Moth.
  • Only the main seven Miraculouses from the Chinese Miracle Box are seen in this movie. Aside from the Ladybug, Cat, Butterfly, and Peacock Miraculouses, the beginning of the movie reveals the Fox Miraculous, Bee Miraculous, and Turtle Miraculous.
    • Because Wayzz doesn't appear at all despite being Master Fu's kwami, it leads to the film not revealing to the audience that Master Fu's bracelet is the camouflaged Turtle Miraculous.
  • Despite Sabine being voiced by Anne Yatco in the movie, her previous voice actress, Philece Sampler, has her name featured under the "Cast" list during the end credits. This is not an error since it is a posthumous credit.
    • It's likely the crew putting both Sabine's voice actresses in the end credits is intentional. Sampler initially recorded Sabine's lines for the first version of the movie. However, after the movie was rewritten multiple times later in production, Yatco took over the role.
  • The movie's Castilian Spanish dubbing credits on Netflix pay tribute to the late Jesús Barreda, who died during production.[71]
  • In the Norwegian dub, Adrien and Emilie are voiced by real-life mother and son; Lena Meieran and Leo Meieran.
  • Multiple background character models have the same hairstyle as Rose and Nathalie. There are also many recolored and slightly tweaked ones of Adrien, Nino, Gabriel, Tom, and Kim.
  • Nadja Chamack works for a television channel called ZAG News and Zag is the last name of Jeremy Zag.
  • The book Marinette was holding while in the library bears the same cat symbol on a box Wayzz was sleeping in while in the phonograph in "Origins".
  • Gabriel saying he couldn't bear to see the sadness and disappointment in his son's eyes is the same thing Adrien said about Ladybug in "Miraculous New York".
  • During the scene in the metro, a man reads a magazine which has Nadja, Nathalie, and Miss Bustier on the cover.
  • Musical notes from the TV show's theme song were played throughout the movie; first during "You Are Ladybug", then from Ladybug's yo-yo, and when Ladybug crashes into multiple bells when in pursuit of the Gargoyle.
  • On September 25, 2023, the full movie was uploaded to the official YouTube channel. However, it was later set to private on the same day, and is now available only in some regions.
  • When the film was released in Germany, three minutes of the film were cut. These include scenes that include explosions and the pre-credits scene where we get to reveal Emilie Agreste's presence, resulting in the "THE END" card being replaced with the film's logo.[72]
  • Although the song "Alone Again" was instrumental in all dubs (despite the vocal version being played at the end credits), the French dub keeps the vocals.
  • As Ladybug, when Marinette mentions them hitting rock bottom referencing what happened to her in "Strikeback" and Chloe in "Revolution".
  • Ladybug and Cat Noir offering their hands to each other is done in several scenes referencing to "Stormy Weather", "Rogercop", "Kuro Neko" and "Determination".
  • After their first fight when Ladybug mentions them seeing each other again but in his dreams and her nightmares refers to the countless times Adrien daydreamed about Ladybug in the show and when Marinette had nightmares about Cat Noir being akumatized in "Cat Blanc" and "Sentibubbler".
  • As Cat Noir said, "Silent but deadly", his tv version made the same joke in "The Mime".
  • With everything involving Emilie this portrays to what would happen if she died by other means and would Gabriel still go down a path of darkness or not similar to his heroic version in "Miraculous Paris".

Deleted scenes

  • On August 15, 2023, Netflix released two deleted scenes from the movie. Both feature scenes that are not fully rendered, as they were likely deleted before they could be in the final cut.
    • The first deleted scene is an alternative version of the beginning scene of Marinette interacting with her parents before going to school. She is mainly seen doing a morning routine in which she keeps on being clumsy.[73]
    • The second is the extended version of the scene of Adrien showing his locket to Marinette and talking about his mother. This scene is based on an earlier draft of the movie's story.[74]
  • Seven new deleted scenes from the movie were revealed on Prime Video.
    • Deleted Scene 1: A scene where Adrien and Nino meet each other for the first time is interrupted when Placide I.T. appears and was supposed to talk for the first time in the franchise.
    • Deleted Scene 2: A scene where Nooroo tells Gabriel that "he should free himself from this burden before it destroys him" was cut. This scene actually supposed to be shown before Gabriel went downstairs and talk to Adrien.
    • Deleted Scene 3: It's a scene after Marinette came back home after being told by Adrien that "there's is someone else" and we also get to see how her house room from a different angle. Her parent ask if she's okay and Marinette told them "I hate my life" before she goes upstairs quickly, following with some melodies of "Reaching Out".
    • Deleted Scene 4: A scene with Hawk Moth in his lair creating an Akuma.
    • Deleted Scene 5: The scene where Marinette talks to Alya and Nino talk to Adrien before they go to the fair was going to be longer. The Haunted Mansion line was also cut.
    • Deleted scene 6: A longer scene of Adrien and Plagg talking since was removed from the final cut, we get to see a scene switch from Plagg talking to Adrien to Tikki talking to Marinette back and forth.
    • Deleted Scene 7: One scene was supposed to show an evening shot of Marinette's house and balcony and also there's a similar shot from the French trailer. This seems like an alternate version because in final version, Marinette sings "Reaching Out" on her balcony and later on noticed a purple bolt of lighting in the sky.
      • In this version Marinette sits in her chair and saw her reflection as Ladybug said "You're nothing, without Ladybug" and then she used her shoes to wipe that reflection away. The difference in this one is that Marinette saw a sky slowly turn green.

Differences between the movie and the show

  • The movie's script is more mature than in the show, for instance having multiple references to death.
  • In the show, Wayzz is the one who senses the Butterfly Miraculous being activated. But in the film, Wayzz doesn't make any appearance and it is Master Fu who senses it and he who explained the origins of the Miraculous in the movie, whereas in the show, Nooroo explained it.
  • In the show, the Parisian streets aren't crowded in the background. With the film's higher budget, it shows the Parisian streets crowded with vehicles and a lot more pedestrians.
  • In the show, all Miraculous holders transform by having the holder wear said Miraculous, say the activation phrases and the kwamis enter the jewels. But in the movie, the transformation words are optional; upon wearing the jewels, the kwamis merely have to enter their owners' hearts and could also detransform their owners by leaving them.
    • The same occurs with the akumas; in the movie, they can either enter victims' objects like in the show or enter the victims' hearts.
  • The Miraculous suits are less durable than their TV series counterparts.
  • The quantum masking isn't as strong compared to the TV series.
  • When Adrien transforms with the Cat Miraculous the jewel is usually black with a green cat pawprint in the series but in the film the pawprint icon is black.
  • Tikki and Plagg also have different mannerisms and abilities:
    • They are far less obedient to Master Fu's orders than compared to the show.
    • They have more influence inside their jewels than in the show.
    • They can also change into the animal forms their jewels were based on.
    • They can interact with their owners while transformed but couldn't in the show.
    • Tikki is a lot more energetic, impatient, and snarky towards Marinette's unwillingness to be a hero in the movie.
    • Tikki was more compelling to use her "baby doll eyes" on Marinette.
    • Plagg behaves more disgustingly in the film, as he keeps on farting and even eats cheese from the trash.
  • Nooroo wasn't as meek and submissive as his original counterpart and was actively defiant against Gabriel's wishes.
  • Ladybug & Cat Noir have a more playful relationship in the series, while the film continuity adds contentious bickering.
  • Marinette saved Master Fu the same way from oncoming traffic. But in the movie, Fu wandered into traffic by accident, while in the show, he did it on purpose.
  • When the owners were separated from their weapons, they could summon them back like Thor with Mjolnir. But in the TV series, only adult holders can do that.
  • The Ladybug and/or Cat Miraculouses would vibrate and glow when the other was in distress or danger.
  • Both heroes met the same way, in which they got tangled in Ladybug's yoyo hanging upside down, but they crashed through the cathedral of Notre Dame instead and were less compelling to work together.
  • Criminals in Paris are seen in the film. This is unlike the TV series where aside from akumatized villains, there were no known criminals in Paris.
  • The heroes were able to retrieve the Butterfly Miraculous, unlike in the TV series.
  • Marinette and Adrien were both 16 when they received their Miraculouses and became superheroes. This made them older than their TV series counterparts, who were only 13 in "Ladybug & Cat Noir".
  • Both the TV series and the movie revealed Emilie Agreste's career as an actress, though the specific type of actress is different: in the movie, she's a theater actress, while in the TV series, she's a movie actress.
  • Emilie was hidden below the Agreste mansion in both this film and the TV series. However, unlike the TV series, she is not in a glass coffin and she is also wearing the Peacock Miraculous.
  • The Peacock Miraculous was attached around Emilie's neck making it look like a necklace when it's tv counterpart is a brooch.
    • In the show it was revealed in "Revelation", how the Peacock Miraculous was found by the Agrestes and Nathalie while not shown in the movie.
    • This version of Adrien Agreste is an actual human being while his T.V. counterpart is a Sentimonster.
      • That means unlike the tv show Emilie died by something else and it's unknown if she used the jewel after Adrien's birth for something else.
      • And yet, unlike it's counterpart, it's unknown if the Peacock Miraculous is damaged.
  • The hidden mechanism acted differently the painting opened a hatch below the floor but in the movie, it acted like a door.
  • All three Miraculous holders in the movie find out who each other are:
    • Gabriel found out that his son was Cat Noir after damaging his mask and wounding him as Hawk Moth, which led him to become more remorseful and guilt-ridden towards what he did. This is in stark contrast to the TV series in two alternate timelines where Gabriel discovered his son's secret identity. In both the "Cat Blanc" and "Ephemeral" timelines, Gabriel felt no remorse and he akumatized his son as soon as he found out.
      • Compared to the show and just like Tikki said, Gabriel had to face his fear.
    • Both heroes find out who the other is, as they reveal themselves after Hawk Moth's defeat. Marinette finds out that Cat Noir is Adrien after seeing his damaged mask and reconciliation with his father after the battle, and Adrien finds out that Marinette is Ladybug when she willingly reveals herself at the winter ball.
    • Adrien and Marinette find out that Gabriel is Hawk Moth, after villain finds out who his son is and detransforms back.
  • The ending of the final fight between Hawk Moth and the heroes was different too where as in the show Hawk Moth was defeated by Ladybug physically while in the movie he was defeated by Cat Noir emotionally.
    • Which also bares a similarity to when Ladybug defeated Argos emotionally in "Emotion".
    • Cat Noir was here for the final fight whereas he wasn't in the show.
  • When Gabriel was explaining his actions to Adrien, in the movie flashbacks he and Emilie had known each other since they were kids but in the series they didn't meet until their young adult years.
  • All of Paris knows Gabriel was Hawk Moth by the end of the film. This is a stark contrast to the show where they never found out and Gabriel is treated as a "hero" after the events of "Re-creation".
  • During her darkest hour, Marinette tried to throw the Ladybug Miraculous away due to all the pressure of being a superhero for the first time. This is different from "Stoneheart" where her TV series counterpart was planning to give it away to someone else.
    • Also, Marinette piled several suitcases on top of Tikki to trap her, whereas, in the TV series, she merely trapped her in a jar.
  • Cat Noir is shown to have super speed in this film, unlike the TV series.
  • Whenever Cat Noir used Cataclysm on the Eiffel Tower in the TV series, he's only able to destroy several beams off of it. But in the film, he can bring the whole structure down with his Cataclysm.
    • Also, instead of his hand pulsating with negative destructive energy it crackled with electricity and it could be used more than once depending on how long it took to recharge which in the show the multiple use of Miraculous superpowers could only be done until the minor holder becomes an adult.
    • When being used against both Hawk Moth's to the original one it caused necrotic scar that spread while the movie version received a normal scar likely from this cataclysm not having enough time to recharge.
  • Ladybug always used her Lucky Charm objects to restore everything; but in the movie, she does not use Lucky Charm at all, and instead, her restoration powers come from the love of the people.
    • Unlike the original version the Lucky Charm isn't apart of the powers of the Ladybug Miraculous and it's also a callback to the PV version.
  • Due to the kwamis being able to call on a transformation and detransformation the powers don't seem to be connected to a timer whereas it was in the show.
  • When Gabriel received the Butterfly Miraculous back it gave him a vision of what would happen if he continued his dark path whereas in the TV show, nothing like that happened.
    • And yet, it could be Nooroo's power implying is that when inside her Miraculous, she could sense the emotions of the person who touches it and then changes it into a vision of the future based on them.
  • The Butterfly Miraculous was found only by Gabriel in a chest in a cave deep underground, unlike in the TV series, in which he found it in the snow with the Peacock alongside Emilie and Nathalie.
  • And when Gabriel akumatized his first victim and after they were deakumatized in the film he passed out but in the show he didn't.
  • More architectural details were done with Ladybug and Cat Noir's hair compared to the show.
  • Adrien wasn't as naive as he was in the show about his father being emotionally absent.
    • Adrien wasn't homeschooled or had a bodyguard like he did in the show.
    • Nor did he take fencing classes or Chinese lessons.
    • As Cat Noir, he was more compelling towards using his powers on Hawk Moth.
  • The movie ended with snow falling around the teenage couple, whereas outside of "Santa Claws", akumatized villains that had the power of snow and ice, and despite "Dearest Family" being in January and "Dark Cupid" being in February, there is no snow in the TV series, or other episodes centered around the winter months.
  • When Hawk Moth first appeared as a swarm of akumas in the shape of his head, he only addressed Ladybug and Cat Noir, whereas in the series he addressed all of Paris, and in the show, it wasn't smoking.
  • The heroes' first adventure began at night, whereas in the show, it began during the day.
    • They received their jewels at night whereas in the show it was daylight and it's also different in "Transmission" whereas they gave their jewels back.
  • The inside of the Miracle Box has more decorative detail than in its TV show counterpart.
    • The lid, however, didn't have the pattern.
  • Hawk Moth can akumatize himself while transformed, while he is only able to akumatize himself when he is detransformed in the show.
  • The Dupain-Cheng family has their vehicle, whereas, in the show, (probably) they do not.
  • In the show, Hawk Moth is only capable of sending one akuma at a time, while in the movie, it is shown that more than one can be created.
  • Both Marinette and Adrien met for the first time in their civilian forms but where was different in the show they met in the classroom for the movie it was in the library.
    • Adrien was extended his hand to help Marinette up in the movie, for the show he extended his hand to offer her an umbrella.
    • She was spying on Adrien the same way she did in "The Evilustrator" and "Volpina".
  • Their love romances were different too:
    • In the show, Adrien's as Cat Noir happened first where he fell in love with Ladybug's courage then Marinette's where she fell in love with his kindness at the school's entrance but in the movie it happened in reverse where Marinette fell in love with Adrien first then Cat Noir with her when she saved him from a speeding train.
  • Similarly to "Strikeback" and "Evolution", everyone was chanting Ladybug's name at the end in support, but unlike in those episodes, Cat Noir is not by her side.
  • Ladybug made her speech to the people of Paris, she made it at the beginning of their adventure on the Eiffel Tower in the show, but in the movie it was at the top of a building near the end.
  • In the movie, Emilie is shown to have passed away when Adrien was still a toddler, possibly up to ten years before Gabriel became Hawk Moth, while in the show, only a few months had passed.
    • Which is similar to Chloe in a flashback from "Despair Bear" when her mother left her when she was a toddler.
  • Nino is shown to be an active skateboarder in this film, but he does not skateboard at all in the series. Additionally, the movie seems to imply that he was best friends with Adrien long before they began attending school, whereas, in the show, they started their friendship on Adrien's second day of school.
  • Just like in the show, Marinette's first encounter with Chloé as Ladybug was by saving her from a horrible fall. However, in the show, Chloé was tossed by Stoneheart while they were on the Eiffel Tower, whereas here, she fell from the Ferris Wheel.
    • Also her getting tossed in a garbage can bares a resemblance when Cat Noir got tossed in one from "Rogercop" and "Glaciator 2".
  • Marinette is shown to play the recorder and do gymnastics, while in the show, she did no such activities.
  • The heroes' first kiss as a couple in the movie is a stark contrast from "Revolution", as their show version was one of sadness but the movie version was one of joy and Adrien attended the ball dance.
  • Adrien kept a picture of him and his mother in a locket, but in the show, it was in his phone.
  • In the show, Marinette stalks on and becomes obsessive over her feelings for Adrien, while in the film, she does not.
    • Which could imply that this version of Marinette wasn't love traumatized by Chloe the prior year in "Derision" or she was but got over it.
  • Ladybug and Cat Noir are never seen sparring with each other in the show.
  • During "Stronger Together" and while hitching a ride on the gargoyle, Ladybug swinging under a bridge is similar to what she did in "Reverser", while saving a biker.
  • In one of their promotional video, Tikki and Plagg could rewind time in a short burst but in the final cut it was removed and their show counterparts couldn't do that as this is Sass' power.
    • In the movie, Ladybug and Cat Noir, were standing in front of the vehicles modeled after them whereas in another promotional video they were racing them on a racetrack with the kwamis by their side while in the show they were too young to drive.
    • As they were presented with cars as gifts of appreciation in "Copycat", they were given statues.
    • Also that means Tikki and Plagg, could be fully out while their owners were transformed but it couldn't be done in the movie.
  • It's unknown whether the Miraculous spellbook exists in the movie universe.
  • In "Mayura", while Ladybug and Cat Noir challenged Scarlett Moth at the Eiffel Tower together whereas Cat Noir challenged him alone.
  • When Cat Noir falls into the water, rescued, and being brought to shore by Ladybug resembles what happened to them in "Reverser", where they fell into the river after being struck but he brought her to shore.
  • During the fight on the ferris wheel Cat Noir and The Mime fought hand-to-hand but when in "The Mime", they fought with weapons.
  • After Hawk Moth absorbed the Ladybug Miraculous into his brooch unlike the usual unification he grew in power but his costume didn't change.
  • Marinette and Adrien's first transformations were different than in the show.
    • Marinette screamed and was at Master Fu's shop whereas in the show she was in room and didn't scream.
    • In the show, they both find and opened the boxes that had their jewels at the same time but they get them individual.
    • Tikki explains everything to Marinette about her mission before they transform but for Plagg and Adrien except for the show there is no scene of this and we don't Adrien's first transformation until near the movie's end.
  • Marinette made her way to Master Fu's shop by accident as she was running away from Chloe but she was led there in the show by Tikki in "Princess Fragrance" and "Volpina".
  • Juleka and Luka go to the same school but in the show they don't.
  • During their first fight Cat Noir riding on the gargoyle's back and seeing Ladybug head for a fall while trying to rescue her which in "Guitar Villain", she tried to rescue him in the show.
  • Adrien and Marinette wore watches where in the series they didn't.
    • Adrien also wore music earbuds but didn't have any in the show.
    • Marinette doesn't where her signature bag in the movie.
  • During the song "You Are Ladybug", Marinette trying to defend herself from Tikki with a parasol is the same thing Aurore tried to do with an Akuma in "Stormy Weather".

Errors

  • During the first scene outside of school, there are two Nathaniels, one who is talking to Ivan and another who is walking and drawing in his book.
  • Whilst Chloé stops bullying Marinette when Alya records her doing so, Juleka and Rose are seen towards the end of the stairs in one shot, but in a later shot, they're upstairs.
  • After Chloé's shirt gets stained, the stain disappears when she says that she can eat bread with butter.
  • When Chloé tells Sabrina to find Marinette, Sabrina's bow tie is miscolored pink.
  • Emilie's atelier is depicted as being behind her painting instead of below it, but the view from the windows flanking the painting doesn't show an extra part of the house.
  • The text on the windows of the bakery spells Tom's surname as "Dupin".
  • Inside the Notre Dame, there's a scene where Ladybug has her yoyo-string around her hip, but it still lays on the ground at the time.
  • When Alya shows the photos she took on Ladybug and Cat Noir's fight with Gargoyle, there was a photo when they were tied up upside down by the yoyo, even though it's impossible that she could have it because no one was around.
    • Most of the pictures couldn't have happened how they're shown.
  • Marinette wears a pair of black earrings even before getting the ladybug Miraculous, but they disappear as soon as she enters the antique shop, she finds Tikki.
  • Nooroo calls the 'Black Cat' Miraculous by the name 'Cat Noir' Miraculous, but Cat Noir hasn't appeared yet.
