Synopsis[]
Monarch is really unlucky when it comes to the power of Intuition. Either Ladybug's Lucky Charm keeps adapting to the situation, or Cat Noir's unpredictability spoils everything at the last second! But when the Tsurugi technologies decide to test their new spaceplane, Monarch senses a unique occasion to get a real second chance. He is ready to do anything, even if it means that this could be his last chance to seize the Miraculous.

What if Monarch kept having second chances?
Plot[]
The episode begins when Ladybug and Cat Noir were battling against Glaciator. Suddenly Glaciator hears a ring and sees a giant bell filled with firecrackers in it above him. The bell falls on top of Glaciator, as the firecrackers melt his ice cream body. Meanwhile, in his lair, Monarch taps the Snake Miraculous and uses the power of Viperion's Second Chance to go back to the moment when Glaciator was searching for Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Monarch tells Glaciator to watch out from what could fall from the sky, but sees nothing. Suddenly, from behind him, Ladybug and Cat Noir are running towards Glaciator, holding a shield connected to Cat Noir's staff. They push Glaciator with the shield into buses on fire, and he melts again.
Using the Snake Miraculous once again, Monarch tells Glaciator to go to a building and sees Cat Noir. The parasol seen in "Elation" is thrown and it is opened, blocking Glaciator's sense of sight and he is pulled toward the buses on fire. Monarch, in his lair is furious that this time is unsuccessful also and when he is about to create another alternate timeline, he suddenly feels pain in his cataclysmed left arm. This then becomes the permanent timeline when Cat Noir throws his staff at Andre's ice cream scoop and releases the megakuma.
In Nathalie's room, Gabriel explains to Nathalie about how the power of Second Chance is useless to the mission as the Lucky Charm always changes to adapt to the situation. As Nathalie tells him to strip Ladybug of her yo-yo to prevent her from using her power, but Gabriel tells Nathalie he has attempted that before.
The scene flashbacks to "Derision". Ladybug uses her power and receives a piping bag, which she ties around with her yo-yo and blinds Dark Humour. He trips and falls down due to the balls created by Cat Noir when he got hit by one of Dark Humour's arrows. The eyepiece is broken as the megakuma flies away. Monarch uses the Miraculous of Intuition to go back to when people were falling down due to the balls being created by Cat Noir. Monarch tells Dark Humour to use one of his arrows to hit Ladybug's yo-yo to prevent her from summoning up a Lucky Charm. He does as Monarch instructs him to and succeeds, as the yo-yo becomes a balloon. Cat Noir hits the balloon toward Dark Humour's face, distracting him. Ladybug runs off to hide behind a pillar, detransform and use her Lucky Charm. She receives the toilet bowl as this timeline becomes part of the permanent as well.
The scene returns to the present, where Gabriel is frustrated, saying that Cat Noir is always there whenever Ladybug is about to lose as the scene flashbacks to "Passion" where Safari has immobilized Ladybug and Mister Bug uses his Lucky Charm. The scene once again returns to the present where Gabriel pulls up his sleeve as the dark mark caused by the cataclysm worsens and spreads around throughout his body as it is revealed that the Snake Miraculous has been used in "Elation", "Derision" and "Passion". Nathalie listens in on Gabriel's heartbeat and hears that the cataclysm has spread to the point where it has reached his heart. Nathalie then tells Gabriel about finding a solution for Adrien and it may be time to stop chasing after Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses so Adrien does not wind up alone.
The next day, as Gabriel is making Adrien pancakes for breakfast, he asks if there is anyone Adrien likes to spend time with other than Nathalie and him. Just when Adrien is about to answer his question, his phone is ringing and sees that it is from Marinette. As Adrien is talking to Marinette, Gabriel suddenly feels the same pain he felt when he was about to use the Snake Miraculous in "Elation", but the pain is going on for much longer though. He overhears Marinette talking about the space jet created by Tomoe Tsurugi. Adrien hears a sound as he turns around and sees Gabriel falling and helps him back up.
Gabriel goes into The Crypt and talks to Emilie about the great danger he has never put himself in before, telling her even though she wouldn't like his plan, that if he does manage to succeed, they will both be saved. He goes into his lair, transforms into Monarch and absorbs Sass into the Snake Miraculous and marks the moment. He uses his Alliance ring to video call with Mrs Tsurugi. He tells her he needs the control codes for her space jet. She asks him what he is not telling her and uses the Snake Miraculous. After failing once more, he calls her for the third time and Mrs Tsurugi notices his heartbeats are not normal. She gives him the control code as Monarch taps the ring once more.
Monarch watches the news about Claudie Kanté flying on the space jet. She introduces an A.D.A, an AI on the jet to Miss Bustier's class. He enters the code Tomoe sent him and has control over A.D.A. A.D.A. manages to pass the first test by using Mrs Kanté's stress levels and emotions. Mrs Kanté is ejected out of the ship and A.D.A. flies off to rescue her for the second test. Monarch taps the Snake Miraculous to mark this moment and shuts off all of A.D.A's sensors. As Mrs Kanté is back into the ship, A.D.A. asks her where she is and believes the test is a failure.
Monarch absorbs Kaalki into his ring as A.D.A. believes it is dangerous and will fly to the end of the universe and flies off. He also absorbs Trixx, Wayzz and Ziggy into his rings as well. He teleports to the top of Tour Montparnasse and uses the power of Genesis to draw an meteorite in space. The meteorite is slowly heading toward Earth and then he uses the power of Mirage to create an illusion of one of his message transmissions. The transmission tells Ladybug and Cat Noir they have to choose between stopping the meteorite or rescuing Mrs Kanté in space.
Marinette pretends she does not feel good to use it as an excuse to transform into Ladybug without anyone noticing and Adrien walks her over to the nurse's office. He uses this opportunity to transform into Cat Noir. Adrien transforms into Cat Noir and uses the purple potion to transform into Astrocat and flies off. After walking out of the nurse's office, she runs off and transforms into Ladybug and also uses the purple space potion to transform into Cosmobug and flies off also. Cosmobug and Astrocat meet up and decide that Astrocat deals with the meteorite and Cosmobug deals with Mrs Kanté. They split up as Monarch watches it is part of his plan and opens a portal as he uses the power of Voyage and goes into it. Cosmobug finds Mrs Kanté's jet and tries to convince A.D.A. to let her help her. A.D.A. refuses, saying she does not need to be fixed.
Monarch, in his lair, detects A.D.A's emotions and creates a megakuma. He teleports it to where the jet is and the megakuma infects A.D.A's CPU. Mrs Kanté and Cosmobug become shocked as they see A.D.A. become akumatized into Bugfighter. Cosmobug tries to use her Lucky Charm, but Bugfighter blasts it, making it disappear. One of Bugfighter's robotic arms has Cosmobug trapped as another arm reaches closer to her and tries to take her earrings. Meanwhile Astrocat cataclysms the meteorite and the pieces start going to Earth.
Monarch uses the power of Shell-ter and tries to trap Astrocat in it, but he just manages to dodge the shield when he hears Cosmobug's calls for help. Monarch uses the Snake Miraculous to go back to when he was about to shut off A.D.A's sensors. He manages to trap Astrocat in his shield this time and receives Cosmobug's help as he sees Monarch's hand through a portal, trying to get Astrocat's Miraculous. He sees the Snake Miraculous and taps it, bringing Monarch back to when he was going to shut off A.D.A's sensors.
He then absorbs Pollen into his ring and repeats the process once more. Astrocat is trapped in the shield and uses the power of Venom, to freeze Astrocat. Monarch gropes around, trying to find Astrocat's ring. Meanwhile, Cosmobug uses her Lucky Vision and figures out how to defeat Bugfighter. She tells Claudie to use the hammer to smash the window. She does as Cosmobug instructs her to and escapes. Bugfighter senses damage inside of her and when she asks Monarch, he tells her it is a result of an asteroid as Claudie is pulling apart Bugfighter's wires. She then realizes Monarch lied to her and rejects the megakuma and deakumatizes back into A.D.A.
He then taps on the Snake Miraculous and goes back to when he created the marker. Once again, the process is repeated and tells Bugfighter to destroy the emergency hammer in the cockpit. Bugfighter asks him and figures out Mrs Kanté is in the jet. Going back in time once more, the process is repeated yet another time. He uses the Snake Miraculous yet multiple times as he fails to convince Bugfighter to destroy the emergency hammer without her finding out the truth. He falls to his knees, in exhaustion, gives and detransforms back into his civilian form as the kwamis that were absorbed return back to their pods. A.D.A. passes the tests as Marinette and her classmates cheer and congratulate Max for his efforts.
Gabriel wakes up as Adrien looks concerned and Nathalie stands behind him, looking frustrated and cross. He claims he was out due to him being tired and not having enough rest. He gets up, saying he will change the amount of time he spends working and the amount of time with Adrien as it is his greatest wish. He receives a call from Marinette and Gabriel allows his son to take the call. He walks away, talking to Marinette. When Adrien leaves the room, Nathalie scolds him for taking a huge risk only for a disastrous result and the only thing accomplished is accelerating the cataclysm's damage on his body. He asks her how much time he has left, only for Nathalie to answer him by saying he does not have much time left. Ladybug and Cat Noir sit with each other on the top of a building, talking about that it is strange how they believe Monarch never uses the power of Second Chance as they stare into the sunset as the episode ends.

Trivia[]
- Internationally, this episode first premiered in France on TFOU.
- Due to the focus of the Snake Miraculous and the number of times Monarch has used Second Chance, Marinette and Adrien, as well as their alter-egos: Ladybug and Cat Noir, have a relatively minor role in this episode. Making this the third episode where neither Marinette or Adrien are the main focus, following "Sentibubbler" and "Guiltrip".
- This is the seventeenth time where Adrien is a minor character in the permanent timeline following "Destruction", "Penalteam", "Ephemeral", "Dearest Family", "Qilin", "Sentibubbler", "Optigami", Crocoduel", "Guiltrip", "Sole Crusher", "Furious Fu", "Mr. Pigeon 72", "Gang of Secrets", "Truth", "Cat Blanc" and "Style Queen".
- If the webisodes were counted, this would be the fortieth.
- This is the ninth time where Marinette is a minor character in the permanent timeline following "Kuro Neko", "Ephemeral", "Rocketear", "Hack-San", "Sentibubbler", "Guiltrip", "Gabriel Agreste" and "Lies".
- If the webisodes were counted, this would be the thirteenth.
- This is the fourth episode where both Marinette and Adrien are minor characters in the permanent timeline following "Ephemeral", "Sentibubbler" and "Guiltrip".
- The episode shares its name with the concept of the Snake Miraculous.
- This episode reveals much about the power of Second Chance:
- The power must never be used while the user is sick or hurt, resulting that any wound/illness they may suffer on their bodies before or during the loop will not revert to how they were before the activation of Second Chance, otherwise their afflictions will speed up. It is unknown if that also includes aging.
- But for aging and taking this episode, "Desperada", "Wishmaker" and "Ephemeral" into account, it seems like age wasn't affected because none of them involved using Second Chance the number times needed to induce aging. The longest time is "Desperada", with 25,913 Second Chances which equals almost 3 months, and about a year or more of aging is needed for a person. The power would have to be used more than 103,652 times which is about under a year (359.90 days).
- However, it is possible that the reason why Second Chance doesn't affect Gabriel's body is because Cataclysm is one of the two most powerful Miraculous powers. Being the power of Destruction, it probably makes it immune to the effects of other Miraculous powers, only being balanced by the powers of the Ladybug Miraculous.
- This is further confirmed in "Pretension", where even the energy of 14 Kwamis combined could barely make the wound fade away.
- In a fight against Lucky Charm, it is imperative that the user either activates Second Chance after the Ladybug Miraculous superpower is used or finds a way to prevent the holder to activate it, as, if Lucky Charm is used before Second Chance is activated, it will only adapt to the situation and become something different, due to its ability to give its user an object that the holder needs to solve the current situation.
- Because Second Chance had been used by Viperion, who is an ally of Ladybug, and before the Snake Miraculous was stolen by Monarch, whenever it was used before the activation of Lucky Charm, the object was always the same, as Viperion would always find a way for the object to be used for its intended use.
- In a fight against Cataclysm, it is imperative that similar to the Lucky Charm that the user either activates Second Chance after the power is used or before the black cat holder touches something/someone as precaution. But as already established, this is ineffective on the Snake Miraculous holder themselves if they're already hit with Cataclysm.
- Also, anyone can trigger the power, not just the user, although if someone else, the same thing still happens as everyone else would forget while the Snake Miraculous holder would remember.
- Similar to the Rabbit Miraculous holders, the Snake Miraculous holders must also be careful on what information they give to others because if it is the wrong kind then they can put a great hindrance to their plans.
- Finally, there are some situations that are simply unwinnable, even with infinite chances. Monarch tried to help his Akumatized villains by giving them multiple Second Chances, but no matter what he tried, Ladybug's cunning and Cat Noir's unpredictability always got the best of him.
- This weakness is partially Monarch's fault, because due to him creating different villains, the heroes were put in so many different situations and outside of commanding his villains or taking their powers away, he never knew what it was like to fight against them therefore he wasn't trained or practiced in unpredictability. So despite the Butterfly Miraculous holder being able to give powers to their victims, it doesn't always guarantee they know how to beat them.
- As ironic as it sounds, Gabriel actually handed the heroes their victory by messing with A.D.A. sensor's it was his own undoing.
- The episode also reveals that Monarch chose not to transfer the Snake Miraculous power to any akumatized villain, because they would have sole power over time and memory of said events, and if they were to use the power of Second Chance foolishly, it could majorly compromise Monarch's plans and risk losing everything.
- The power must never be used while the user is sick or hurt, resulting that any wound/illness they may suffer on their bodies before or during the loop will not revert to how they were before the activation of Second Chance, otherwise their afflictions will speed up. It is unknown if that also includes aging.
- Beside the power of Second Chance, the concept of intuition, intuitiveness and how short-sided as well as how right it can be is expressed and how someone's intuitiveness should never be doubt:
- Luka Couffaine, as the current Snake Miraculous holder Viperion, has a calm, observant, focused and opened mind.
- How Ladybug's instinct and intuition had become so sharp that she was right about her enemy's actions in various episodes.
- In "Miraculer", Ladybug was right about Mayura and Hawk Moth using Chloe as bait to get the Bee Miraculous and them.
- In "Furious Fu", Su-Han praised Marinette's instinct but in "Ephemeral", due to him giving into fear he doubted her instincts which led to terrible results.
- In "Sentibubbler", even Marinette's dreams were right about Hawk Moth coming after Alya.
- In "Destruction", as well as her being right Hawk Moth about using the kwamis to hunt her down.
- André has good intuition when it came to matching people with his ice cream and their situations in "Elation", it was short-sided as he wanted his love vision to be true so much that he didn't think about what those actions would cause for everyone else.
- As well as in "Glaciator 2", as he had forgotten that like the heroes and everyone else he had no idea who they were and his intuition was short-sided as he jumped conclusions again as he thought Marinette and Cat Noir were in item when actually they weren't.
- When Monarch used Second Chance the first time with Glaciator, he tried to warn him about a bell falling from the sky and called it intuition. This is due to how the power of Second Chance makes its user appear to other people to possess a great intuition for knowing things that are about to happen.
- Both Tomoe and A.D.A. had an intuition that Monarch was lying to or hiding something away from them.
- Due to the desperation of getting the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous and the little time he has left, Monarch should've followed his intuition that he would succeed in one last use of Second Chance by applying everything he had learned through his previous uses of the power: destroy Ladybug's yo-yo so she couldn't use Lucky Charm, put her in a situation where she cannot replace it, all while separating her from Cat Noir. However, that same desperation diminished his intuition to the point where he used the Snake Miraculous' power in a situation he couldn't win, resulting in the acceleration of the advance of Cat Noir's Cataclysm on his body.
- Tomoe Tsurugi had the intuition that Monarch was hiding something from her, then was able to hear his accelerated heartbeat, causing him to tell her he didn't had much time left to seize the Miraculous.
- A.D.A's intuition was manipulated by Monarch and she hastily headed off into space had Claudie thought of what Ladybug had suggested earlier herself then she wouldn't need to be save.
- Because of their conditions, Gabriel and Nathalie feared of Adrien being alone they had used their intuition they would've realized Adrien being alone would've been the least of their problems.
- Ladybug thought it was strange Monarch hasn't used Second Chance against them, only for Cat Noir to consider it lucky he hasn't used it. In a way, both of them were right, they didn't know about the previous times Monarch used it and how he thought it was too risky to transfer the power to his akumatized villains, and when his Cataclysm injury caught to him, he permanently cease using Second Chance.
- Adrien's intuition was right in "Oni-Chan" and other episodes as he warned Lila, if she continued lying to everybody she would eventually get caught in "Confrontation".
- Master Fu's intuition about Chloé's betrayal as Queen Bee came true in "The Battle of the Miraculous, as well as about Hawk Moth seizing all of the Miraculous from "Kwamibuster" coming true in "The Battle of the Miraculous" and "Strikeback".
- When Cat Noir warned Chloe about getting her powers under Hawk Moth would turn into a nightmare in "Miraculer" by "Miracle Queen" and "Revolution".
- Monarch's intuition was also right too upon realizing the situation with the Snake Miraculous; had he given it back that included Sass too, he would've told the heroes everything which is similar to "Destruction".
- Emilie's intuition about Gabriel's actions was true as she didn't want many to suffer for their mistake.
- The Snake Miraculous' superpower title, Second Chance, refers to how many of those conditions that were lost, gone, not given, people didn't take or they did:
- Adrien took his chance to use the Snake Miraculous becoming the holder Aspik to prove to himself that he could do or be something on his own without his status as Cat Noir or his father looming in his shadow.
- Adrien mentioned in "Derision", to Chloe how Ladybug and Cat Noir gave her a chance with Bee Miraculous.
- For Adrien in "Reflekdoll" and Alya in "Hack-San", both were excited at the chance to use Ladybug's powers.
- After Gabriel told Adrien the truth about his identity as Hawk Moth, he didn't give him a chance to handle it on his own following "Cat Blanc" and "Ephemeral".
- Gabriel and Nathalie had many chances to realize what they were doing was wrong and own up to what they have done.
- Despite talking to an illusion of him in "Mayura", Ladybug and Cat Noir gave Hawk Moth a chance to help him fix his mistake, but he didn't.
- In "Passion", Nathalie while akumatized had the chance to tell Lady Noir and Mister Bug everything had she acted on it then things wouldn't been different.
- While holding his hand through the voyage portal, Astrocat had the chance to remove some of the miraculous rings from Monarch, especially the Horse Miraculous (who had Kaalki inside of it and is located at the same hand as the Snake Miraculous) and Astrocat could've used it himself to get out of barrier imprisoning him.
- But as of "Re-creation", Bug Noire shockingly discovered that Monarch remade them so only he, the akumatized, and the Miraculized can use them. Even if she nor Astrocat took them in either occasion then heroes would've discovered they cannot use them until they were restored extending to the point if they were, then the heroes would still have the mystery of how they were found. And due to Monarch knowing that Ladybug has access to them through her yo-yo, it would only be a matter of time before he stole it again.
- Both Lila and Félix had the chance to tell Ladybug and Cat Noir who Monarch was, but chose not to acting out of selfishness.
- Lila and Chloé had and were given many chances to repent for their actions, but they didn't.
- Even though, Andre knew that Chloe's behavior was wrong, he took a chance and hope she would change but he had many chances to discipline her and stand up to Audrey to make it so.
- Nathalie had many chances to show Adrien the tapes she and Gabriel had hidden away.
- As well as Master Fu: if he had known that the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses were intact sooner, he could've used the opportunity to find them.
- After Rena and the others as of "Miracle Queen", had their identities exposed to Hawk Moth because of Chloe, Ladybug gave them all another chance to continue as their alteregos.
- In "Evolution", Monarch had the chance to change the past (in his point of view) for the better, but was consumed by greed and missed it.
- Through Season 4, Ladybug had many chances to come to Cat Noir for help about her problems, but waited too long to ask and resulted in her losing the other Miraculouses.
- In "Kuro Neko", Adrien took the chance to become the perfect partner for Ladybug.
- Both Marinette and Adrien took a chance on Felix in "Shadow Moth's Final Attack", but he betrayed them both.
- Adrien didn't tell his friends that he didn't want to go on his father's trip, that he was still in Paris or that he told everyone that he is responsible (partly) for Monarch gaining so much power.
- After the events of "Destruction", Ladybug nor Cat Noir didn't take the chance to check with their kwamis or guardians if there was another way to reverse the afflictions of Monarch without Ladybug's power or the Ultimate Power.
- In "The Kwamis' Choice", Tikki and Plagg took the chance and freed their owners so they could be happy together.
- In "Adoration", Andre gave up his true calling for film making and took a chance at politics.
- In "Representation", Felix had many chances to tell both Marinette and Adrien (thereby extension their alter-egos) the story of their family history allowing them to act sooner or work something out with him.
- And they aren't only about going back in time to fix a mistake but sometimes we must wait and fix them going forward.
- In "Mayura", Tikki likely remembered what happened in "Style Queen" and this time received a mini miracle box an object with a reflective surface that allowed the duo to see behind them.
- When Style Queen had returned in "Optigami", Alya wasn't going to let Ladybug fight alone.
- Upon realizing that Luka and Juleka are his kids, knowing he couldn't undo anything about the past Jagged Stone tried to be there for them now.
- Ladybug finally understood how keeping secrets not only hurt Cat Noir but also herself and everyone then in Season 5, she did what she could to make up for it.
- Also another reason could be why Gabriel wanted Adrien and Kagami to be married is so that his son isn't met with ridicule and criticism as he was with Emilie in their younger years.
- Also, the Snake Miraculous represents showing repetitive cycles, how they can be both good and bad, change over time, show a person their own reflection, teach them a lesson, reminds us that we're all apart of it, how some things will work out if you don't interfere and work with what you have.
- In the beginning as Ladybug, Marinette didn't always get the Lucky Charm object she wanted, so she had to work with what she had.
- As Cat Noir was sad that Ladybug wouldn't give him a chance (romantically) but he did the same to her in not giving her a chance to be with the one she loves.
- How the kwamis have been going through a continued cycle of working with owners for 5000 years.
- After almost 200 years when the jewels had returned in "Origins", Master Fu changed the cycle of who would get them to include teenagers.
- From "Miraculous New York", just like Gilbert and George Washington exchanged the Eagle Miraculous and Gilbert's sabre as sign of friendship, Ladybug and Cat Noir continued the cycle entrusting the jewel to Eagle.
- In trying to restore his family, Gabriel created an endless cycle of madness which continued when the Butterfly Miraculous was lost to Cerise.
- Through his mind, if Gabriel was obsessed in trying to bring Emilie back once, then he would've done it again, just continuing his cycle of madness another way.
- Then, he would be living with what he put Ladybug through meaning just because you have the power to bring someone back, you should never revel in watching those you care about or innocent die.
- But what Gabriel had forgotten is that Emilie now was just apart of endless cycle of countless people who didn't deserve to die at least the way they did.
- Both Felix and Gabriel were bullied and mocked by those with power but when they got it they became the bullies.
- Because of their choices, Chloé and Gabriel ended up in a vicious cycle where they indirectly destroyed each other.
- Marinette and Adrien were going through the same relationship class problems as his parents did.
- In "The Battle of Miraculous", Marinette didn't need separate Adrien and Kagami if they were later going to breakup because of Shadow Moth in "Lies".
- As well as the numerous times Hawk Moth had forcibly made Ladybug, Cat Noir and their team continue his cycle of lies and secrets.
- Not only that Gabriel made his son and Marinette inherit his and Emilie's mistake by living through them in "Desperada" and "Strikeback".
- Félix in "Strikeback" and Marinette in "Emotion", tricked cycled each other into learning powerful lessons.
- "Emotion" showed Félix what was going to happen to him if he continued his father's and uncle's cycle of misusing the miraculouses. but despite Colt being gone, he continued his father's cycle of pain as Colt made it his choice to hurt his son, while Felix gave everyone else a reason to hurt him when he didn't think his actions through.
- Before and ending in "Strikeback", Ladybug and Cat Noir unintentionally caused a cycle where they hurt each other.
- In "Re-creation", where Marinette saw her own reflection in Gabriel of where he was broken, sad, lonely and miserable.
- From "Miraculous Paris", alternate Marinette and Adrien used the power of the Miraculouses in their world to escape the pain of their civilian lives but in using them for evil they caused themselves more pain.
- This episode reveals much about the power of Second Chance:
- It is revealed that Monarch had been using the power of Second Chance in many of his battles against Ladybug and Cat Noir:
- In "Passion", he used the power at least one time to direct Safari to first immobilize Ladybug with her guided Venom shots, failing due to Cat Noir being able to evade her Venom shots and discover their weakness to affect them in their civilian forms.
- In "Elation", he used the power at least two times to warn Glaciator about any incoming attacks from the heroes or direct him to where they are, but failing due to the adaptability of Ladybug's Lucky Charm, who becomes different after Monarch directs Glaciator to counter it.
- In "Derision", he used the power at least one time, directing Dark Humor to affect Ladybug's yoyo with Uproar at the right time in order to prevent her from using Lucky Charm, but failing due to Cat Noir's unpredictability that interfered with his plan, distracting Dark Humor long enough for Ladybug to de-transform and transform again to recover her yoyo.
- This episode reveals some more details about other Miraculous powers besides the one that takes central stage on the episode:
- It is revealed that the Shell-ter barrier can even be erected from many kilometers away and be casted like a beam.
- When using the power of Genesis, the user can create the object they desire anywhere, but depending how roughly they make the object's shape its size can be way off.
- Taking in the condition with Astrocat, had Monarch taken his ring, then he would've known he left Adrien like Ladybug with no air in space. Meaning Gabriel would have to get son back to earth quickly and the voyage portal is the fastest way, but having his son in his lair let alone the crypt are the last places where he wants Adrien to go. That means Monarch would have to think of another end destination portal while he was pulling Astrocat through, but it is unknown if the Horse Miraculous holder can do so under said conditions.
- It was revealed that the Space power-up suits come with high tech visors.
- That the jetpacks can easily catch up with A.D.A. meaning that said packs can go up to 6000mph or more.
- It was revealed that Monarch's sickness has spread to his internal organs, with even his heart rate being affected.
- Tomoe Tsurugi shared a code with Gabriel: K1s3k1_n0_Sh1n_J1d41.
- The code is associated with the Japanese phrase "Kiseki no Shin Jidai" (奇跡の新時代) , which translates to "A New Era of Miracles" in English.
- This is the eleventh episode to involve an alternate timeline, following "Desperada", "Party Crasher", "Cat Blanc", "Miracle Queen", "Wishmaker", Ephemeral", "Evolution", "Passion", "Elation", and "Derision".
- This episode includes flashbacks to "Passion", "Elation", and "Derision".
- This episode shows Monarch using six Miraculous powers, besides his own, including Second Chance, Shell-ter, Mirage, Genesis, Voyage, and Venom.
- This also shows that Monarch seemingly can tolerate more than five Miraculous powers, in comparison to "Illusion" and "Deflagration", but it looks like Monarch only became fatigued due to the constant uses of Second Chance, but not to the extent of collapsing after using a total of seven Miraculous powers in "Evolution".
- This is the seventh time where the space power-up is used following "Miraculous Shanghai", "Miraculous New York", "Dearest Family", "Ephemeral", "Multiplication" and "Miraculous Paris".
- A.D.A. is the third character to be akumatized for the first time in season 5 following Véronique in "Determination" and Kouki in "Transmission".
- A.D.A. is the second new introduced character in season 5 to be akumatized, following Kouki in "Transmission".
- This is the third time where Monarch akumatizes artificial intelligence following Markov in "Robostus" and in "Hack-San".
- But, unlike Markov, this is first time where an artificial intelligence breaks free of their akumatization.
- She also becomes is the eighth character to reject an akuma after being fully akumatized and reverting to normal on its own, following Alya in "Gang of Secrets", Nino in "Rocketear", Sabine in "Qilin", Gabriel in "Dearest Family", Chloé in "Penalteam", Jalil in "Reunion" and Kagami in "Perfection".
- But, unlike Markov, this is first time where an artificial intelligence breaks free of their akumatization.
- Following "Desperada", this is the second time where Ladybug's vision helps her with a problem outside of using her Lucky Charm.
- This is the twelfth episode that features a post-credit scene, following "Miracle Queen", "Gabriel Agreste", "Optigami", "Sentibubbler", "Dearest Family", "Multiplication", "Jubilation", "Illusion", "Transmission", "Perfection" and "Derision".
- This is the fourth post-credit scene not to feature Gabriel Agreste, following "Multiplication", "Jubilation" and "Derision".
- This is the fifth time where the Miraculous Ladybug superpower wasn't used following "Ladybug and Cat Noir", "Catalyst", "Destruction" and "Illusion".
- This is the thirteenth time where magical charms don't appear since their introduction following "Sentibubbler", "Hack-San", "Ephemeral", "Kuro Neko", "Risk", "Evolution", "Destruction", "Illusion", "Passion", "Reunion", "Transmission" and "Deflagration".
- This is the fourteenth time when the ear communicator was used following "Gigantitan", "The Dark Owl", "Gamer 2.0", "Lies", "Queen Banana", "Gabriel Agreste", "Optigami", "Glaciator 2", "Ephemeral", "Kuro Neko", "Penalteam", "Risk", "Strikeback", and "Multiplication".
- Including alternate timelines this episode takes the record for showing the most lucky charm objects with five.
- This is eighth time an episode has involved time following "Timebreaker", "Backwarder", "Desperada", "Timetagger", "Cat Blanc", "Ephemeral" and "Evolution".
- This episode bares a resemblance to "Robostus", "Desperada", "Startrain", "Evolution" and "Deflagration":
- With "Desperada", Adrien and his father weren't thinking straight when they first used the Snake Miraculous, as Adrien was trying to impress a girl while Gabriel used both the Rabbit ("Evolution") and Snake Miraculouses out of greed and desperation.
- They both realize they couldn't use the Snake Miraculous anymore (after their first try) as Adrien figured it out on his own while Gabriel's body gave out on him.
- However, unlike Adrien, who was able to pick a worthy holder for the Snake Miraculous, Gabriel couldn't. Adrien also improved with the powers of time as of "Miracle Queen" and "Evolution", whilst Gabriel could physically no longer use the Snake Miraculous.
- They both realize they couldn't use the Snake Miraculous anymore (after their first try) as Adrien figured it out on his own while Gabriel's body gave out on him.
- Same as "Evolution", Gabriel lost the ability to use the Snake Miraculous' power despite him not losing the jewel as he did with the Rabbit and Nathalie reprimanded him for his foolish actions.
- Both "Robostus" and this episode involved akumatizing artificial intelligence Markov and A.D.A.
- Both were caring about their human companion as Markov was to Max and A.D.A. is to Claudie.
- Similar to "Startrain", both fights take place in space, but unlike the former, this is done with both heroes in their space forms.
- Similar to "Desperada", even though Adrien said he used the Snake's power 25913 times, we didn't see that same number times as well as Gabriel used the power 22 times, at least on-screen for the time being.
- Astrocat grabbed Monarch's hand the same way Ladybug did when retrieving the Cat Miraculous back in "Deflagration".
- With "Desperada", Adrien and his father weren't thinking straight when they first used the Snake Miraculous, as Adrien was trying to impress a girl while Gabriel used both the Rabbit ("Evolution") and Snake Miraculouses out of greed and desperation.
- The scene of how Astrocat used his cataclysm to destroy the meteor is similar to "Dearest Family".
- This is the fifth time where Ladybug's lucky charm is intercepted or interrupted following "Robostus", "Sandboy", "Oni-Chan" and "Derision".
- Not counting episodes which don't have end cards, this is the fourth episode to have an end card in which Marinette and Adrien don't appear, following "The Collector", "Malediktator", and "Migration".
- These four, alongside "Félix" and "Multiplication", are the only episodes in which Marinette doesn't appear.
- This is the second time neither Tikki nor Plagg were shown in an episode, following "Guiltrip".
- This is the fourth time Tikki doesn't make an appearance, following "Gabriel Agreste", "Guiltrip" and "Migration".
- This is the thirteenth time Plagg doesn't make an appearance, following "Prime Queen", "Despair Bear", "Malediktator", "Animaestro", "Christmaster", "Truth", "Furious Fu", "Guiltrip", "Crocoduel", "Qilin", "Destruction" and "Determination".
- This is the fourth time that a portal destination created by Voyage has been in space, following "Miracle Queen", "Strikeback" and "Migration".
- It is revealed that Nathaniel sits in front of Lila in class, after Ivan started sitting next to Mylène, which was first seen in "Illusion".
Errors[]
- The "Passion" flashback scene looks darker, but still it is probably reused because there are also some frames where it matches the original episode.
- Mister Bug's lucky charm sequence has some random sparkles in the background that shouldn't be there.
- In both versions of the flashback from "Derision", Cat Noir says "Sorry I have to bounce so soon!", instead of the original "Sorry you have to bounce so soon!".
- When Monarch finally gives up and falls down, the symbols on the kwamis' cages are all miscolored white.
- It was also miscolored white when Monarch was in his lair while A.D.A. was akumatized
- When Monarch first creates his fake version made out of akumas, there are unnecessary shadows on the illusion.
- When Monarch goes back to his lair after creating the illusion and the meteorite, he summons Voyage without saying its name.
- However, since he is an adult, it is possible that he optionally says the names of the powers since he never says the name of his own when in use.
- When Marinette asks Claudie how A.D.A. works, her left eyebrow is missing.
- However, this probably is not an error because her hair is covering it.
- When Ladybug approaches the space jet, A.D.A. can hear her, which means her microphone is still working. That means A.D.A. should've heard Claudie even if her other sensors were disabled.
- However, Monarch could have only turned off the sensors inside the ship, but not outside the ship.
- The fact Monarch was able to akumatize A.D.A. when she was in Space is an inconsistency regarding what was established in "Startrain", regarding how he needs to be at a certain range from his akuma in order to communicate with his akumatized villains, otherwise they will act on their own.
- However, there are a few explanations for that inconsistency:
- It is possible that he only needs the distance to make contact and, once that happens, the connection remains intact. Since Monarch can use Voyage, he can use it to not only send his megakumas quickly, but also to counter the limit regarding distance.
- Another explanation is that he needs to remain transformed to make contact with his villains. Since, in "Startrain", he was detransformed when Claudie was akumatized into the titular villain, he was unable to contact her. However, since the Butterfly Miraculous holder can communicate with any akumatized person, even those not created by them, that explanation may be unlikely.
- At last (and the most likely explanation), it must be noticed that when the limited range of his control over his akumas was revealed, Monarch was still Hawk Moth and he hadn't created the megakuma yet. Because of that, it is possible that the megakuma possesses a much bigger range than the normal one.
- However, there are a few explanations for that inconsistency:
- When Monarch finally gives up and transforms back, all the kwamis except Nooroo go back to their cages. But this technically is not possible because Monarch gets the kwamis' powers after he disables the sensors of A.D.A. And since the very last time he didn't disable them, all the kwamis should have been in their cages.
- However, because of the nature of Second Chance, it's possible that, as the powers of the holders become part of them, when Monarch goes back in time while having kwamis powering his rings, the kwamis remain in the rings instead of going back to their cages.
- When Monarch says "Genesis", his miraculous has two white strands instead of four.
- The same error happens when Monarch transforms in his lair.
- After convincing Tomoe, Monarch cancels the power of Second Chance and activates it again during the second test of A.D.A.. But between these two points, the Snake Miraculous Ring keeps blinking despite not being used.
- In the scene before A.D.A.'s akumatization, all the butterflies in his lair are not seen.
- When Monarch akumatizes A.D.A., his voice isn't deep like it usually is, instead being like Gabriel's civilian voice
- When Cosmobug breaks free from Bugfighter, her yo-yo can be seen attached to her hip despite being previously destroyed.
- When Monarch calls Ziggy to her miraculous, the symbol on her cage is missing.
- Right after Ziggy is transferred into her Miraculous, Trixx and Wayzz are seen in their cages even though they were transferred into their rings before Monarch transferred Ziggy.
- In some scenes, Cosmobug spots on her mask glows blue instead of glowing white.
- There is an inconsistency between "Elation" and this episode. In "Elation", Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm long after Glaciator ends his speech, while in the alternate stories shown in this episode, Ladybug has already summoned her Lucky Charm and made a plan before he ends his speech.
- However, that might also be the revelation of the fact that Lucky Charm actually tells its user when to summon it, without the user noticing it. So in the scene in "Elation", Lucky Charm might have made Ladybug wait a little more before summoning it.
- When Monarch is at the top of Tour Montparnasse, the Snake Miraculous ring is not blinking.
