This article is about a Cat Miraculous holder in ancient China. You may be looking for another Cat. |
Hēi Māo[1] was a Chinese Miraculous holder who is featured in the Grimoire for the Cat Miraculous. When Plagg inhabited the Cat Miraculous, he transformed into a black cat-themed superhero.
Appearance
Hēi Māo had black hair. He wore a black mask over his eyes and a black hat with two cat ear-shaped tips. His outfit was a black tunic and trousers that ended shortly below his knees, with layer gray armored plates over his right shoulder and upper arm. Also, he wore black cloth over his lower legs and black shoes, and a long black sash, like a cat's tail, came off his back.
Abilities
Assuming that the past Cat Miraculous holder had the same powers as the current holder (Adrien), he had enhanced strength, durability, and agility, as well as the superpower Cataclysm. He also used the staff, as seen in the book illustration.

Trivia
- Hēi māo (黑貓) means "black cat" in Chinese.
- He is the earliest known Cat Miraculous holder.
- He is the first known person of Chinese origins to wield the Cat Miraculous, preceding Marinette, who occasionally uses it.
- Similar to Hippolyta and Heracles, since he and the other Chinese holders were the first Miraculous holders, it's likely that they knew each other.
