“ | Pigella's power shows the person it affects their heart's greatest desire. | ” |
Gift is the special superpower granted by the Pig Miraculous to its owner.
Description[]
This superpower allows the user to conjure an image of the deepest wish in a person's heart and trap that person in a dream of their happiest desire. It is activated by the user speaking its name.
Miraculous owner[]
The Pig Miraculous owner first kisses and then swings their tambourine, conjuring a magical gift box that the user can open in front of their target.
In "Kuro Neko", it is revealed that the gift box can be thrown, so the user does not actually have to be right in front of the target when activating the power. Also the user does not have to open the box themselves, it will open automatically once it's in right in front of the target.
When the box is opened, it reveals an image of the deepest wish in the target's heart. This wish is seen through a floating ball of light about the size of a shot put ball, though, as seen in "Kuro Neko", the size of the orb is relative to the size of the target. The ball of light is covered with a pink hue (as if looking through a rose-colored lens). When the target looks into the ball of light, they become mesmerized by the vision of their desire, rendering them completely vulnerable in the real world.
In "Jubilation", it's revealed that Gift can also force its target to live a hallucinatory dream of their greatest desire, instead of merely showing them a vision of it. It seems that being trapped in the dream dulls the senses, making the victim not realize that they got trapped in the Gift and causing them to believe everything they experience, no matter how obviously absurd. Additionally, time is compressed within the dreamscape; in the span of a few seconds of real world time, Ladybug and Cat Noir lived seemingly several years.
In "Collusion", it is implied that Gift can also be used to show someone a specific happy dream of the users choosing. Miss Sans-Cullote infused the power into her blade and combined it with her ability to transform people into balloons. This allowed her to transform people into singing balloons that are motivated to follow her commands in the name of their dreams of freedom. However, it is possible that this application of Gift may have only been achieved as a result of her Akumatization.
This power can also be used on more than one person at a time, as long as those people are standing very close together. When it hits multiple people at once, their deepest wishes are combined into one joint dream. This is evidenced by how Ladybug and Cat Noir are hit together, and their dreams are mixed together, having Ladybug's wish of defeating Monarch and recovering all the stolen Miraculouses seamlessly change into Cat Noir's wish of having Ladybug's love, marrying her and starting a family with her.
Notably, as seen in "Guiltrip", the user of Gift can look into the orb without getting mesmerized and see the victim's desire. It is currently unknown if other people would be able to safely look into the orb as well.
Gift is meant to grant happiness and joy to the target, so it can be used to cheer someone up just as easily as it can pacify an enemy. Since this power enhances happiness and positivity, it is also capable of driving off forces that feed off negative emotions, such as the sentimonster Guiltrip or akumatization.
Daizzi[]
The effects of Daizzi's Gift is unknown, but it would most certainly be unconstrained and results in some kind of catastrophe though he would be able to restrain it somewhat.
Weaknesses[]
It is revealed in "Jubilation" that a victim under the effect of this power can be awoken from their trance by a disturbance in their real-world surroundings, such as the ringing of an alarm clock. The disturbance in question would repeatedly appear in the dream in various, but consistent forms, causing the victim to realize that they are in a dream, allowing the victim to choose to wake up.
While this power makes the target happy while it's active, once the dream ends and the target comes to the realization that the dream-come-true they experienced was a lie, it can cause them terrible grief and despair, as well as extreme anger towards the user for toying with their feelings. Without exceptional self control, the target may end up doing something they'll regret, possibly to the users disadvantage.
Resistance can cancel out the effects of Gift.
In "Miraculous Paris", it is revealed that using the special superpower uses vital energy from the Kwami, but also from the miraculous holder. It's one thing for an adult holder, but for an underage holder, who is less physically and mentally capable of handling the strain, there is a security system in place that limits them to only using their special power once and causes them to detransform before it becomes dangerous. However, using the Miraculous for evil overrides the limiter, allowing an underage holder to use their powers to their full potential. As previously stated, a younger holder cannot handle the strain; dark veins of corruption will gradually spread across their body, and they will inevitably be destroyed.

Trivia[]
- The rose colored tint of the wish is most likely an allusion to the idiom "see through rose-colored glasses", which means to look at a scenario in a positive or optimistic way.
- Similar to Amokization, Gift can be perceived as one of the cruelest superpowers, as it can force a target to live their wildest dreams, which can become so real to them that, when they are brought to reality, they are left in a profound state of sadness, which is the exact opposite effect of its intended purpose.
- Which is also understandable too because within the dreamworld anyone can have anything they desire so easily without rules, consequences or obstacles in the way as compared to be with the real world where we can't have everything we desire.
- The people sharing the same dream seem to let themselves be carried away by the other's dream, as Ladybug was shown having actual romantic interest for Cat Noir. However, it's possible she herself had already some romantic feelings for him and they just manifested in the dream.
- Similar to Burrow, time can also move different in the dreamscape of Gift.
- It is currently unknown what would happen if the gift box misses after it's been thrown, or what would happen if it hits anyone who isn't the intended target.
- In the Korean dub, the power is called "환희의 선물" which translates to "Gift of Joy".
- The effect of Gift is similar to that of the Mirror of Erised from the Harry Potter series.
- To compare the two, the power of Gift is more portable than the mirror, and the vision is so much more immersive. On the other hand, Gift doesn't last long, whereas the mirror continues to exist indefinitely.
- When Darker Owl used Gift and trap Ladybug & Cat Noir, it was similar to Infinite Tsukuyomi from Naruto, which trapped the entire world in an illusion where their deepest desires were fulfilled.
- Gift was one of the three superpowers that Monarch never used throughout Season 5, the other two being Clout and Uproar.
- However, he only used Genesis in an alternate timeline in "Intuition".
