Description

The Cour Napoléon is the only open courtyard of the Louvre Palace and is made of sandstone and granite slabs. Rectangular in shape and with a surface area of ​​28,000 m², it is bordered to the west by the Place du Carrousel, to the north by the Richelieu Wing, to the east by the Pavillon de Sully and to the south by the Denon Wing.

The center of the courtyard is dominated by the Louvre Pyramid and the adjoining pyramids and pools, which serve as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum.
