Go ahead, Purple Tigress! Keep them at bay!

Ladybug to Purple Tigeress, "Crocoduel"

Clout is the special superpower granted by the Tiger Miraculous to its owner.

Description[]

This superpower allows the user to unleash an ultra powerful super punch. It is activated by the user speaking its name.

Miraculous owner[]

Crocoduel 430

The user surrounded by energy.

The Tiger Miraculous owner gathers an immense amount of concussive force into their fist, causing it to glow with swirling energy. The Tiger Miraculous owner then charges or leaps toward their target, occasionally surrounded by a comet-like tail of energy in the process, then punches the target.

Penalteam 305

The aftermath of Clout.

The actual impact of Clout carries tremendous blunt forces and is powerful enough to generate a very wide, very strong explosion-like shockwave. It is capable of demolishing buildings and/or leaving a large crater in its aftermath. Even a Miraculous holder, whose magic super suit make them nearly invulnerable, can barely handle a hit from Clout. The super punch can also used to send the target, even a very large and heavy one, flying a very far distance at high speeds, allowing the user to send their opponent flying away or send a projectile toward their opponent at high speeds.

As seen in "Elation", "Transmission", "Pretension", and "Confrontation" the user can control the power of clout: from a normal punch to a very strong explosion-like shockwave, therefore being able to minimalize the damage or dispel the power, similar to the Cataclysm, however this is most likely an adult power. The only exception of this was in "Confrontation" when Juleka was akumatized into Reflekta, she used the power to blow up the school then attack Ladybug and Cat Noir due to the Tiger Miraculous being in ring form.

Roaar[]

The effects of Roaar's Clout is unknown, but it would most certainly be unconstrained and results in some kind of catastrophe, possibly in a similar manner to Plagg's use of Cataclysm.

Weaknesses[]

As seen in "Penalteam", "Elation", and "Confrontation", of all the Miraculouses belonging to the Chinese Miracle Box, the Tiger's power has one of, if not the highest potentials for causing collateral damage the user might not be able to predict. Furthermore, as seen in "Elation", the impact of Clout generates a loud boom and a giant cloud of thick purple smoke, making it very easy for an enemy to locate the user.

As seen in "Transmission", it appears that Clout has a set amount of power, regardless of the user's size and strength. When used by the gigantic Kiku, his super punches didn't appear to cause any more damage than Clout normally does when used by a regular Tiger Miraculous holder, such as Purple Tigress. As compared to the Cataclysm when used in "Strikeback" by the sentimonster, when it used the Cataclysm it brought the entire building to ash with one punch.

As seen in "Strikeback", objects or people sent flying by the super punch are not unstoppable, as they can be diverted through other means, with the power of Wind Dragon and the block by the power of Shell-ter as examples.

As seen in "Confrontation", in the unique circumstances that the power is duplicated, the power of Clout can be turned against itself, resulting in massive super-explosion when the punches collide, thus incapacitating the users. The subsequent blast is powerful enough to completely level an area as wide as a city block.

Resistance can cancel out the effect of Clout.

In "Miraculous Paris", it is revealed that using the special superpower uses vital energy from the Kwami, but also from the Miraculous holder. It's one thing for an adult holder, but for an underage holder, who is less physically and mentally capable of handling the strain, there is a security system in place that limits them to only using their special power once and causes them to detransform before it becomes dangerous. However, using the Miraculous for evil overrides the limiter, allowing an underage holder to use their powers to their full potential. As previously stated, a younger holder cannot handle the strain; dark veins of corruption will gradually spread across their body, and they will inevitably be destroyed.

Trivia[]

  • The word "Clout" can mean "a heavy blow", "influence", or power".
    • In the original French version, Clout is called "Fougue",[1] which can mean "fire", "passion", or "intensity".
      • Both the English and French names reference the boost of spirit, courage, and energy that a Tiger holder gains when they summon their power.
    • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, the power is called "Colisão", which translates to "Collision".
    • In the European Portuguese dub, the power is called "Impacto", which translates to "Impact".
    • In the Italian dub, the power is called "Potere", which literally translates to "Power".
    • In the Korean dub, the power is called "분노의 펀치" which translates to "Punch of Fury".
  • Clout is very similar to Cataclysm.
    • Coincidentally, they are both powers belonging to Kwamis based on felines.
    • Both powers are able to minimalize their damage when the holder reaches adulthood.
    • Both superpowers involve gathering energy around their respective Miraculous.
    • They both can be used to create a destructive/powerful force.
  • Clout is the third known Miraculous superpower that is activated directly through its Miraculous, followed by Cataclysm and Second Chance.
  • As seen with Glaciator in "Elation", if the user has the power to shoot something from their hands, then they can infuse the power of Clout into the projectile, greatly increasing its impact force.
  • Clout is fairly similar to a few other super punches or other charged attacks from other media franchises.
  • Clout was one of the three superpowers that Monarch never used throughout Season 5, the other two being Gift and Uproar.
