Alternative timelines are different realities from the same world that no longer exist, due to past events being altered. There are several instances where characters physically go back in time, to otherwise fix unfortunate events; the timeline with the unrepaired event then becomes an alternate timeline.
The current known methods that grant time travel capabilities that can create alternate timelines are usage of a time-related Miraculouses or akumatized powers connected to time.
Second Chance[]
The power of of the Snake Miraculous, Second Chance, is used to rewind time up to a maximum of five minutes. Sass, independent of the Miraculous, can subvert the five minute period by connecting to any temporal marker in the past, however, like all kwamis that use their power without channeling it through a Miraculous, it has the disastrous consequence of blending multiple time periods into one era. Second Chance is mainly used to live through a situation and bring the determined solution to the past, to prevent any issues.
Desperada[]
Adrien, as Aspik, uses Second Chance 25,913 times to attempt to defeat Desperada. He fails in all scenarios, with Ladybug getting captured. After refunding the Miraculous, Ladybug bestows it to Luka Couffaine. As Viperion, he rewinds time a total of four times to figure out the best position to subdue Desperada in order for her guitar case to be captured and purified.
Miracle Queen[]
A mind-controlled Viperion uses Second Chance twice against Cat Noir. Cat Noir gets his hands on the Snake Miraculous, and unifies with it as Snake Noir, using it twice to defeat Miracle Queen.
Wishmaker[]
Viperion is tasked with using Second Chance to prevent Hawk Moth from learning Ladybug and Cat Noir's identities if they were to get hit by Wishmaker's childhood-wish-exposing beam. He uses the ability twice, after Ladybug, and then Cat Noir's, identities get exposed, learning the best direct course of action to prevent Wishmaker from successfully targeting either of them. In the process, this leaves Luka to know that both Marinette and Adrien are Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Ephemeral[]
Second Chance is used in several separate instances this episode. Viperion rewinds 100 times to guess the correct combination to Moolak's safe, starting with the number 0000. He later sets a temporal marker at Ladybug's behest so she can ask for Cat Noir's identity to inform Su-Han, but to prevent her from retaining the knowledge of it; this marker however expires, preventing Viperion from being able to rewind to the instance he set it.
Later, Sass has to use Second Chance on his own to rewind to that marker after Shadow Moth obtained both the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses and his wish was about to cause the world to be reset. Rewinding to this instance without the use of Miraculous causes several eras to converge wildly and time to become unbalanced, requiring Ladybug to reset world clocks and use her magical ladybugs to return everything to normal.
Intuition[]
It's revealed that Monarch has been using Second Chance many times to help his villains get the edge on the heroes but couldn't beat Ladybug's cunning or Cat Noir's unpredictability. He broke the final straw by hopelessly using the Snake Miraculous in a situation he couldn't win resulting in his condition accelerating after he altered the miraculous possibly removing the safety lock.
Burrow[]
The power of of the Rabbit Miraculous, Burrow, is used to travel through time.
Bringing someone from the past to the future[]
In "Evolution", due to Monarch's, Ladybug's and Rabbit Noir's many time hops, the trio end up in 1940's France at night - the night Master Fu left Paris to escape from the Nazis who sought the Miracle Box. Aware that Monarch tagged the Rabbit Miraculous with the ball of the Dog Miraculous, preventing the duo from getting it back from him, they asked 1940's Master Fu for the past Dog Miraculous, and then bringing it and 1940's Barkk into the future. By doing this, she became aware of some of her sibling's future owners and that the Miraculous, including her own, would be stolen one day. This event left her being very protective of the Miraculous Box and refusing to leave it's side unless absolutely necessary, as shown in "Furious Fu".
Alternate events of Lady Wifi[]
In "Evolution", Monarch uses Burrow to find multiple previous instances where he could steal Ladybug or Cat Noir's Miraculouses.
The only instance that plays out successfully is at the moment when Ladybug's hands are stopped against the wall by Lady Wifi. Monarch uses a Burrow portal to drop into the scene, confusing Ladybug and Lady Wifi; he takes Lady Wifi's phone and pauses her with it, and approaches Ladybug to take her earrings. Bunnyx undoes this timeline by re-opening the portal a second after Monarch jumped through the one he created, and has Ladybug from inside the Burrow lasso and pull him back through, preventing him from succeeding.
Akumatization[]
The power of of the Butterfly Miraculous, Akumatization, is used to transform an ordinary person into a superhuman with special superpowers that correspond to that persons nature or circumstances. This can include powers related to time and time travel.
Timebreaker[]
After several of her classmates and Cat Noir are used as energy for Timebreaker to travel back in time by 6 minutes, Ladybug also travels back in time via Timebreaker's portal. The alternate-Ladybug fights the two Timebreakers with the present Cat Noir and Ladybug and both akumatized villains are defeated. One of the Ladybugs casts her miraculous ladybug, which merges both realities together since the events caused by akumatization were undone.
Cat Blanc[]
In this timeline, Adrien deduces that Ladybug is Marinette after she left a beret for him with a note saying it was from Marinette. They began dating shortly after, to the ire of Gabriel Agreste. So he demands that Marinette breaks up with Adrien. She appears at the gate of the Agreste mansion saying that she and Adrien aren't made for each other and runs away crying. After Hawk Moth sense a great amount of despair like he never had before, he charges an akuma with negative energy, and it goes to akumatize Marinette. Adrien runs out of the gates and transforms into Cat Noir to cataclysm the Akuma before it possesses Marinette. Then she witnesses his transformation, learning of Adrien's identity, and he reveals that he knew she was Ladybug since they started dating. Nathalie also sees him transform and informs Gabriel.
Soon after, the pair break into the repository while attacking Hawk Moth. Unexpectedly, he calls Cat Noir "Adrien" and opens the pod exposing Emilie's comatose and cryogenically frozen body. While trying to explain his motives and actions, Cat Noir gets agitated, and Hawk Moth pushes him through the ceiling and to the Eiffel Tower. Ladybug and Hawk Moth struggle to sway him to their respective sides and in his distressed state, Hawk Moth akumatizes him into Cat Blanc. However, Hawk Moth loses control of him and Cat Blanc destroys the planet, with Ladybug and Hawk Moth petrified under the felled Eiffel Tower, Paris flooded and devoid of life, and leaving a giant hole in the moon.
This reality is later undone by Ladybug being sent via Burrow to the moment she left the gift to Adrien and erasing her name from the card, which would prevent him from ever connecting the dots.

- Only those Miraculous with time-related powers, such as the Snake or Rabbit, are the ones that can fully vanquish a reality by changing what is going to happen in the past.
- The total amount of reality existing in the current world makes a out a total of 26,027, excluding all those times in the past the Snake or Rabbit Miraculous have been used.
- In "Timebreaker", Ladybug travels back in time via Timebreaker's portal and meets her past-self. Afterwards, she casts her lucky charm and travels back to her current timeline, while also destroying the other timeline as that has never happened in the past.
- In "Desperada", after Adrien quits using the Snake Miraculous, he mentions that he has been trying for the 25,913th time to defeat Desperada but failed, and Viperion used it only four times to succeed in defeating Desperada.
- In "Timetagger", Bunnyx mentions a timeline (the future) in which her Miraculous was accidentally damaged by Cat Noir's cataclysm.
- In "Cat Blanc", Bunnyx takes Ladybug to the future to try to find out what caused Cat Noir to be Akumatized and preventing it from happening by going back to the past, after find the reason for his Akumatization.
- In "Miracle Queen", the mind-controlled Viperion used Second Chance twice to try and defeat Cat Noir but failed, and Snake Noir used it twice to succed in defeating Miracle Queen.
- In "Wishmaker", Viperion goes back in time twice to stop Shadow Moth from learning Ladybug and Cat Noir's identities and to defeat Wishmaker.
- In "Ephemeral", Viperion goes back in time 100 times to try to open Moolak's safe, starting with the number 0000 and later Sass goes back in time when Second Chance was last used by a Miraculous holder to stop Ladybug's defeat. While not specific, Jeanne d'Arc gets teleported into the future whilst in a past battle, creating a different past timeline where she may have shared this information with someone.
- Despite activating his power to assist Ladybug on her plan to reveal Cat Noir's identity to Master Su-Han, Viperion never came to use it to go back in time.
- In "Evolution", Monarch uses the Rabbit Miraculous to go back in time to when Lady Wifi paused Ladybug on the wall in the kitchen. Bunnyx rewinds the destination at that moment which Ladybug pulls him in, therefore erasing him ever getting a hold of the Ladybug Miraculous.
- Due to Ladybug encountering an alternative timeline of complete destruction, she has been having nightmares ever since altering her memories and that of others, as seen in "Sentibubbler".
- Taking "Cat Blanc", "Ephemeral", "Miraculous Paris", "Emotion" and "Re-creation" into account, even if a bad timeline is deleted or altered, the events of the said timeline can still happen, just in a different way. In all three timelines except from "Miraculous Paris", the main Marinette and Adrien become a couple, but unlike the first two they didn't know each other's hero identities in the third. Also, when the heroes discovered Monarch's identity and motives in "Cat Blanc", both Ladybug and Cat Noir discovered it together, while in "Ephemeral", Adrien discovered the truth alone, and Marinette discovered the truth alone in "Re-creation".
- In "Cat Blanc" and "Miraculous Paris", when all of them ended up at the Eiffel Tower, as Claw Noire was right under it, he attempted to destroy everything but Cat Noir did it by accident. While there Cat Noir got struck with a kamiko and in the former episode he was struck with an akuma both were done by his father but the difference was the main Hawk Moth knew who the hero was and demanded his help while Betterfly didn't and yet only asked. From "Cat Blanc", he got knocked to the Eiffel Tower from his home whereas Cat Noir got knocked away.
- In "Cat Blanc" and "Emotion", both the inhabitants of the planet were destroyed but in "Cat Blanc", Cat Noir did it by accident but couldn't undo his mistake while in "Emotion", Felix meant to but after seeing the errors of his ways he undid what he did.
