I am SO sorry for taking so long, but today I'm posting two parts, so don't get too angry w/ me. I would like to thank all of you for your support throughout this! Ta-Da!
Adrien quickly turned to the door, a hopeful smile pulling on his lips, towards the sound of his mother’s voice. His face fell when he saw no one was there.
“Who-Who are you talking to Kid,” Plagg asked, flying in front of him.
“N-No one, I just thought I..,”
A flash of light caught his eye, and he looked down at the broken frame. What was that? Picking it up he flipped it over to the back, revealing the backing ajar, and a sliver of silver.
“What the..?,” He murmured., removing the back.
His eyes widened in surprise at what he saw. Taped to the back of the photo was a silver disk. Written in black marker it said
To My Angel
In his mother's handwriting. He gasped slightly.
Suddenly his door started to open, and he hid the disk under some papers on his desk.
“Adrien, are you all right, I heard a crashing noise,” Nathalie asked concerned.
He turned away from her roughly.
“Why do you care,”
Nathalie’s eyes narrowed but softened when she saw the picture in his hands.
“Oh, I see. Very well, Goodbye Adrien,”
With that she took her leave.
Adrien gazed out the window, his eyes glassed over when a ladybug flew by.
The next day at school, anger turned to concern for Adrien’s friends, something had changed, he was worse than ever.
“Morning Aalya, Morning Nino!,” Marinette called, walking into the classroom, the ever-present smile on her face.
She was taken by surprise when Aalya rushed over to hug her.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you yesterday, I feel so guilty,”
“It’s true,” Nino called “It’s all she could talk about in between bites,”
Marinette looked puzzled for a moment, then her eyes widened in understanding.
“So you did end up getting Ice cream, I’m glad,”
The sound of the door opening was heard, and both Aalya’s and Nino’s eyes widened. Marinette turned around to see Adrien.
“M-morning Ad-Adrien!,” She called.
“What’s so good about it,”
Aalya snorted in outrage stomping towards him, but Nino picked her up and threw her over his shoulder.
“LET ME AT EM, LET ME AT EM!,” She protested, but Nino just laughed slightly, and sat her in her seat, kissing her on the cheek.
“Calm down Aalya, I have a feeling our girls going to handle this just fine,” He smiled, looking at Marinette.
“Th-there’s always som-something good to find, like how the sun is sh-shining really br-bright today, and earlier today the b-birds were s-singing so-so beautifully,” She stuttered.
“My mother’s missing, my father treats me like a chess piece, the only person who takes care of me is paid to do it, and my so-called friends are all getting on my nerves. Where’s the good Marinette, tell me, really I’m interested,”
She looked down
“Getting on your nerves?”
“Yes Marinette, I’ve had to deal with Nino’s annoying clinginess, Aalya’s misplaced anger, and your pathetic attempts to talk to me, so pardon me for getting annoyed,”
By this point, the entire class was either glaring at Adrien or looking worriedly at Marinette. She dropped her smile, her bangs falling over her face.
“I’m sorry if I annoyed you,” She said, sitting down emotionless next to Aalya “I’ll try my best not to do it again,”
“Marinette,” Melene said sadly.
“Why your gonna,” Kim and Ivan both started to go up to him.
“It’s ok guys, really,” Marinette said, stopping them “He’s right, it was my fault, there’s no need for that,”
Aalya looked worriedly at Marinette. What was going on in that girl's head? Throughout the day Marinette and Adrien both were really quiet, not talking to anyone. Once school had ended, Marinette grimaced at the pouring down rain outside. She opened her locker when Tikki appeared beside her.
“Cheer up Marinette, I know you’re upset about Adrien, but I don’t think you can get through to him at this point,”
Suddenly Marinette’s eyes widened as she looked into her locker. Sitting there, was the black umbrella.
“Tikki, I have an idea,”
