Yet ladybug still has feelings and we've seen her get mad before.
Unless you're not suitable for the Miraculous you're using. You weren't meant ever have it. It's meant for someone different, a different type of person altogether. Then you can't handle the power of that Miraculous, and in trying to bend it to your will, it bends YOU -- and that's where Hawk Moths come from.
Yeah, she can get mad. She's still human. She's IN CONTROL of herself, though. She knows there are invisible lines that she'll never cross, no matter how bad she feels.
But if she stays angry for an amount of time that would be enough for Hawk Moth.
No matter how much Marinette dislikes Chloe, she knows she would never do anything to hurt her, no matter WHAT Chloe did to her, or how bad she made Mari feel, or how mad she got. She's SAVED her worst enemy from death on several occasions. If someone can do that, they'll never be akumatized.
Y'see, that's why Master Fu chose Marinette. He could tell. You can't give the power of Ladybug to someone who might use it for their own purposes, to hurt someone or get revenge. It's all part of the Kwamis' plan.
Can you really hurt someone with the power of creation?
How fast do you think that yo-yo is spinning? All that centrifugal force would be lethal if she just let it fly at Chloe's head.
And yes, the yo-yo was originally developed in ancient times as a weapon. That is a fact that you can look up.
It's my belief that the entire setup of MIRACULOUS was designed to teach a moral lesson. Everyone experiences negative emotions, but when you give into those dark feelings of despair, you let your emotions control YOU, instead of being the master of your own emotions. Marinette was unsure of herself when she first got her Miraculous, and thought it must be a mistake -- that she was never cut out to be a hero, that she was too imperfect, too fallible. Yet when push came to shove, Marinette was able to rise above, and not let her fears rule her. She took control of her fears, mastered them, and became a true hero. She's not entirely fearless yet. She's still working on it. The major hurdle she has to overcome now is her fear of being hurt in love. That's what's been holding her back from telling Adrien how she really feels about him.
Gabriel Agreste shows us the opposite, what happens when we give into those feelings of fear and dark despair. I believe he became Hawk Moth because he gave into that despair when his wife disappeared, and let the negative emotions control his actions. In trying to use the Butterfly Miraculous, HE's no longer in control, it's the dark negative emotions that control HIM. Since he can't control himSELF, he has an obsession with controlling everything and everyone ELSE around him. That is why he lives a secluded existence locked away in his mansion as Gabriel, and avoids interacting with people most of the time. He's not good at keeping his emotions under control, so he appears to be cold and distant as Gabriel, except when he gets angry. As Hawk Moth, he never leaves his lair, but influences others by telepathically reinforcing their darkest thoughts -- he tells them they're right to feel this way, and urges them to let those feelings guide their actions. But as either Gabriel or as Hawk Moth, he seems to easily be angered by anything that doesn't go his way. Almost every episode we're treated to another one of Hawk Moth's little rants after he's failed once again to gain the Miraculous' that he so badly desires.
The akumatized supervillians that Hawk Moth creates are like little versions of himself -- all people who have GIVEN IN, let the dark feelings inside them defeat them, and in those moments of despair, Hawk Moth enters their minds because he's on the same mental 'wavelength'. He fuels the fires of those negative emotions in control of them at that moment, promises them power to "get even" with the world. There is a difference between merely getting mad and letting that take control of you. If you let your anger be in the driver's seat, then it's controlling you, instead of the opposite way around. That's the kind of thing that makes ripe victims for Hawk Moth's little akumas. Marinette knows that she would never hurt ANYone, no matter how mad she gets at Chloe.
