Welcome to my first post :3
Today I'm going to talk about a really serious matter.
ADRIENETTE or the love square in general
Sooo , everything started when I was watching a MLB webisode. Well , Marinette was writing on her diary saying she disliked Cat Noir. You may wonder , what does that have to do with Adrienette? As we all know , Cat Noir's personality is Adrien's true self. Same for Marinette. So Marinette only likes Adrien's ''mask''.
Adrien , well , SHe's jUSt A FriENd . She's just a friend my ass Adrien. He doesn't really have a problem with Marinette though ;)
Well , let's hope time fixes that. We'll see. See you next time!
Marinette was just having a Really Bad Day that first day of school, in addition to to having to overcome all her fears and make the adjustment to the idea that *she* was chosen to be Ladybug. By the time she gets back to class and sits down, she's just about had it, and lays into Chloe with a ferocity totally unlike her, when Chloe attempts to bully her out of her seat in class. But it started earlier when she assumed Adrien was guilty of sticking gum on her seat, and she accused him of it when he was innocent. Even though he had nothing to do with it, he couldn't stand by and let Chloe prank Marinette like that, so he was trying to figure out how to remove the gum when Mari came along to sit and saw him, and just thought he was in it together with Chloe.
That's true! Well , we'll see. I know that they are going to be a couple soo
Also I have no intention to say that Adrienette is not good enough , I ship that SO HARD please do not misunderstand.
She doesn't dislike Cat Noir, though. She actually likes him, as a partner. She's just too smitten with Adrien to see that she's actually looking at another side of the same boy. And of course the same in true of Adrien -- he's just so impressed by Ladybug that he can't recognize the same things he likes about Marinette.
It's like they each are so focused on staring at one particular tree that neither of them can recognize the fact that they're standing in the middle of a forest.
In her diary, Marinette wrote about Cat Noir, "I haven't known him for very long, but it feels like we've been together forever."
And if Cat Noir gets his wish, they will be. <3
Strangely enough, she immediately slips into a relaxed, comfortable partnership with this "just-a-friend" who in reality is both the object of her adoration and the biggest source of her nervousness and lack of confidence. Cat makes her feel at ease around him, with his good-natured joking around and compliments.
So what's she so afraid of with Adrien, then? She could be closer to him if she made the effort, but the very idea seems to scare her. At first I thought it was just fear of rejection, but now I think just the opposite. She's actually AFRAID to find out that he might feel the same way about her, so she invents excuses to keep herself from finding out whether it's true. She's afraid if it was she wouldn't know what to do next. Dreaming about him and loving him from afar is fine, but the prospect of the REALITY of love is terrifying to her. She has a tender and fragile heart, and she's afraid she might somehow get hurt.
Even when she musters the courage to put what she feels into words (inspired by Adrien's discarded poem) in a Valentine -- *somehow* she manages to "FORGET" to sign it. When she leaves an accidentally-recorded message on his phone that reveals her true feelings, she's so frantic that he might discover how she *really* feels that she STEALS his phone. It's like somewhere deep down, she's fighting with herself over the idea of ever letting him know and getting together with him. She's actually a worse enemy to herself than any supervillain she's ever battled.
Really? I didn't know! Pawsome <3<3<3
And her obvious ease and casualness around Cat makes her powerfully attractive to him as Ladybug, in addition to her smarts, confidence, and bravery in the face of danger. She didn't have all those the first time they met, but his immediate acceptance, support, and belief in her made her pull those qualities out from deep inside her. And she looks pretty cute in red and black polka-dots, too.
She's always surprising and impressing him, both as Marinette and as Ladybug, but the talents she expresses in her two identities are also different, so he hasn't made the connection that these two multi-talented girls are actually the same girl.
from Marinette's diary:
"What I really can't stand is that he always has to show off when we're on a mission."
He's on a mission. It's just not the same one you're thinking of. That's what guys do to get your attention.
from Marinette's diary:
"Actually, Cat Noir and I really DO make a pretty awesome team. But I think he's got a *bit* of a crush on me, y'know? Except *I* love ADRIEN. Cat Noir's not anywhere *near* as perfect as Adrien! ...He does have some really cool things about him, though -- like, he fights really well... Besides, I can always count on him. Okaay, so MAYBE I might see Cat Noir differently if it wasn't for Adrien... WAIT, whhaat? Am I for REAL? What am I *saying*?? My world without Adrien?!? That would be HORRIBLE! No WAY, nuh-UH, NOT happening!! Pretend I NEVER said it, OK? ERASED. That's all for today."
And I'm sure if Adrien had a diary, he'd be writing something VERY close to:
"I think Marinette's got a bit of crush on me, y'know? Except *I'm* in love with LADYBUG. She's my little Bugaboo, and she fights really well, and always seems to know what to do, so she's smart, too. We make a *super* team, 'cause Ladybug's just like... CRAZY awesome! Of course, she couldn't do it without MY help, but still -- I have to admit that without Ladybug's Lucky Charm, I wouldn't stand a chance of de-evilizing these bad guys HawkMoth keeps sending at us.
But Marinette does have some pretty cool things about her, though. She's really cute, and super-talented in art and fashion design. I can't believe a 15 year-old girl got to design an album cover for a rock star like Jagged Stone! That's like something that can't EVER have happened to ANY 15 year-old besides her. Come to think of it, if I wasn't so head-over-tail crazy about Ladybug, I'd probably think about asking her out. No time for that now, though. The TV just announced a supervillain attack on the Eiffle Tower!! (What IS it with these villains and architectural landmarks, anyway?!?) Time for this cat to scat! Noir out!"
What do you think?
